In Gaurav Gupta

Kiara made her debut at the Met Gala wearing a custom gown from Gaurav Gupta featuring his signature metallic chest armor. How the gown referenced the theme is up fo guesses (I’ll update when I find out more) but the Mommy to be sure looked good here.

In Sabyasachi

Shah Rukh made his debut at the Met Gala on Monday wearign a custom shirt, coat and pants set from Sabyasachi that was finished out with several layered necklaces and a jeweled cane.

So much talk of this collab and all we got was an all-black suit. So safe and so boring. And don’t get me started on that K necklace. K K Korny is what it was.

Wearing His Own: Part Deux

Sabyasachi also wore a long coat to the Met Gala 2025 paired with a feather hat and a collar neckpiece. I felt rather underwhelmed. His outfit at last year’s Gala showed off more black dandyism that the theme was begging for.

What do you think of his outing?

In Thom Browne

Mona attended the Met Gala on Monday wearing a custom pantsuit from Thom Browne. The menswear inspired outfit obviously won’t top her last year’s outfit but she still looked look and got the theme right.

Wearing His Own

Designer Manish Malhotra was one of the first South Asians to arrive at the 2025 Met Gala which is underway as I type. The theme this year is Superfine: Tailoring Black Style and the exhibition explores how clothing and style have shaped Black identities throughout the Atlantic diaspora.

Mr. Malhotra wore a caped floor length coat which could possibly be an homage to the late André Leon Talley who was know for his over the top coats. How did you think Mr. Malhotra do in getting the theme right?
