  1. Love the jewellery, makeup and the colour red on Katrina, Vicky looks handsome too!

The warm winter daylight is making all the pictures look extra beautiful.

    Congratulations!

P.S. – Saw their wedding card somewhere on Insta; I had assumed Vicky was short for a longer formal name (Virender, Tejinder, Ravindar, Ranvir, Ranbir), turns out it’s not 😀

    • Sabya is passionate about working on bridal trousseau and working with brides. He is probably the nicest, most involved designer to work with when it’s your wedding. Also, most likely to keep things confidential.

      • Red is the traditional color of the Indian Bride. Red, Orange and Yellow are the traditional colors of Indian weddings. Red for Mehendi, Yellow for Haldi and the quintessential Orange ( Marigold/Genday ka phool ). I love that Katrina stuck to tradition picked an Indian venue and Indian shades..Anushaka’s weddings pallette was like a very standard typical western wedding with pink and pastel shades. Looked very pretty but nothing Indian about it.

        • Traditional doesn’t necessarily beautiful. Modern day brides want to experiment with their wedding looks and they rightfully should. It’s their big day after all. I would pick Anushka’s bridal look over all other celebrity brides because she dared to look different. Deepika and Katrina both looked good on their wedding day but very typical.

          • You are bride. its your day. You will stand out anyway.
Why is it always with Indian brides anyway… why does modern man have to go against the reds and pink? Why is traditional typical?

No one says for western brides they only wear white gowns for their wedding?

  2. Yet another cookie-cutter Sabya Bollywood bride, but I have to say, they both look so happy, radiant and blissfully in love, that the outfit doesn’t really matter. Best wishes to the newly weds. Katrina is a real class act, and it shows in her handling of her wedding.

        • Deepika’s wedding pics were equally candid.. I agree the rest of the functions were a bit editorial but I’m sure everyone’s wedding day is special to them so let’s respect that! And to each their own anyway. Both of them looked radiant and gorgeous

  3. Apart from their beautiful, in love pictures, I had expected better.. not the typical sabyasachi calendar shoot like wedding look. So done with one designer dictating wedding “looks..” looks like Bollywood got dates from sabyasachi to wind up all their weddings and he did the same look feel and designs in bulk for all in last 2-3 years.
why’s nobody doing vallaya, Rohit bal, Falguni Shane.. they do awesome bridal too..

    • I get you are commenting about the Sabya theme but the emotions are transcending everything and making it very, very special.
It could have looked like an editorial shoot but … their smiles are coming from their hearts. They look so in love and seems like they have a close bond & that’s very very apparent in these pics. That’s all that matters. Some of the best wedding pics I have ever seen. My best wishes to the couple.

  4. Beautiful. I am genuinely happy for Katrina. Usually I take Bollywood folks and their over-publicised love stories with a grain of salt, but this woman comes across like an actual human being who has lived her life the best she could and is deserving of all the happiness she gets.

  5. Katrina’s dupatta is an ode to punjabi roots of Vicky- source Sabya’s insta. If this was the thought process behind designing Katrina’s outfit, the first designer duo names that came in my mind was Rimple&Harpreet. They too do bridal wear in an opulent way. But when it comes to bollywood wedding, they all go Sabya way!

    • A lot of upcoming local punjabi designers like Harkiran Basra are also doing really good work. Most girls I know opted for Rimple and Harpreet for punjabi weddings. Also for the past two years I am seeing girls going with small but unique local designers. The whole point is to look special, not a cookie cutter bride. Like Masaba wore Katrina’s look during Sabya’s collection launch. The stylist didn’t even bothered to change the jewellery and nath etc for Katrina.
P.s. The couple is looking so divine and happy and that’s all that matters.

      • The whole point is to look exactly like one chooses to look! This is something Kat loved and she went for it! This whole “cookie cutter”/ identical business I find really condescending …. and not very accurate either.
You don’t need to do new just for the heck of it.. reinterpreting a classic is much harder sometimes and she has done just that. She has breathed new freshness into the look and made it completely her own. No one else can top her in this look I think.

        • YES! I am on another BW forum and there is a sweeping wave of disappointment over the brides’ “Sabya looks” I mean, these celebs dont OWE any one anything on their most special day 🙂 First we sanctimoniously announce stars need their privacy and then we are all up in their business demanding a unique wedding look because we expect to see some great pictures
          LOL!

    • Exactly! Rimple and harpreet would’ve been a great choice too. an ode to his punjabi heritage. But same ol same ol boring looks of sabya!! katrina could’ve done better.

    • I think Sabya links a story to his clothes but his new collections are full of this particular gota so one can say his latest collections are an ode to punjabi roots.

  6. Congratulations to the newly weds and thier family and fans.

No matter what is thought if thier repetitive wedding wear, Kat really has that “Bridal Glow” – its just priceless.

This may be a repetitive look, but no denying its a look done well. No tricks and re inventing the wheel, just a happy Indian bride and groom, that is what weddings are about 🙂

  7. Across the world bridal look by definition is a bit formulaic. Anushka truly created a wonderful departure. So I am just enjoying the classic looks of Kaif and Kaushal ! NO gimmick here. Traditional and beautiful. They look like wealthy professionals getting married. Not some King or Queen. There is still lightness to Katrina’s look. And I can see HER and not Sabyasachi.

      • They do look like thermocol there is no yellowing which comes after hours of wear and tear, and some actually do fall off the string, but I do see some blooming in places.
Who knows… it could be thermacol sprayed with jasmine scent
They are always thinking about perfect pictures, so who knows

  8. wow, they DO make for a stunningly gorgeous couple! that wedding glow and the delicate winter sun make the pix look glorious. Can’t go wrong with Sabya bridalwear, even though it’s now formulaic. VK looks dapper in Sabya too and that emerald necklace on him is stunning. Just watched them on Tapecast on YouTube and it was the first time they met — you can clearly see him falling for her. haha. best wishes to the couple.

  11. She looks gorgeous and I’m glad she chose a traditional red. But I really would have liked to see her in another designer. Sabyasachi seems to have a template bridal look and it’s become super boring. To me this look seems very similar to Anushka’s except for the colour difference. There was even a comparison on Instagram that showed how similar their looks were.

They’re both glowing. Happy for them. And I love her purple ring !

  13. yes, they look great and real and very happy and i congratulate them and wish them the best, truly.

having said that, I would have loved a punjabi turban on Vicky (seedha safa) and perhaps a hint of victorian / kashmiri jewellery on katrina to honour their own unique heritage.
they’ve just appropriated rajputana/ rajasthani heritage for no reason at all!

    • Ah. Although I do agree with you, never seen Kat sport Kashmiri style before. So really can’t expect it at the wedding. Maybe she isn’t really acquainted with it. So it would have been gimmicky if she had opted for it. And Vicky I think just went with the flow and sported what went with the theme.

          • Ayesha Shroff’s team made up her surname and they were not informed of an Indian (Kashmiri) connection by Katrina ..

Also, If Katrina’s father is indeed a Kashmiri Muslim, then she is unlikely to wear a Dejhor because it is a custom unique to Kashmiri Hindus.

  16. She is glowing and they look happy . Congratulations to them !

However, I am so bored of Sabya – it’s the same styling , same nose ring , same diaphanous dupatta with something written on it , same shade of red , same chunky jewelry and a round bindi.

I wish I could see an Anita Dongre or anyone else

  17. No doubt both of them looked gorgeous and radiant! I am also a huge sabya fan even though i’m not a hug fan of his pricing, I do own a lot of his sarees. But I too am tired of every bollywood star opting for the same designer. There are so many awesome bridal designers such as Anamika Khanna, Tarun Tahiliani, Anita Dongre, Suneet Varma, even Abu Jani is great for bridal wear. But why oh why most of these heroines choose Sabya! If I were Katrina I would not have chosen sabya just so that I wouldn’t be compared to Deepika and Anushkha. I would’ve chosen Sabya’s jewelry but Anamika Khanna or Anita Dongre as my bridalwear.

  18. so tired of these sabya’s brides. There is no customization and looks like its off the shelf for every other bride. except for the mang tikka changing sizes, they are all pretty much clones of one another. For a designer to not evolve and have the same designs since 4 years, is rather shameful and as gorgeous as everyone looks, there is a utter lack of creativity! I am afraid the reception will also end up looking like Anushka and Deepika with maang bhari sindoor. I suppose these outfits must be free and probably the brides get paid, i don’t see any other reason why all these people are repeating these outfits

  19. Agree on the Sabya overdose (just saw Patralekha as well), no denying Katrina looks beautiful and being the star she is, would adhere to the typical Bollywood wedding formula. Speaking of red and other designers how gorgeous did Dia Mirza look in her red Raw Mango with simple green glass bangles <3

  20. I’m not sure what people mean by “cookie cutter”. This overall look is the traditional bridal look…red sari, jewelry, mangalsutra, etc. I mean the color sometimes changes based on the region you are from, but the basic overall look is traditional Hindu. Do we call all white wedding gowns “cookie cutter”? I have never heard anyone say, wish she would have worn a blue pant suit to the church ceremony.
Having said that, all brides are , by rule, gorgeous on their wedding day…and with that smile, she could have donned the blue pant suit and still looked gorgeous!
