We have so many local handloom shops n they have such beautiful sarees.. Why not wear them instead of these insanely priced branded desi wear!

Mission Mangal is about a lot of women scientists who lead otherwise normal lives and sport regular sarees. I’m sure all of this is “in character” as per Bollywood standards. Raw Mango is the goto saree choice for non-bridal occasions by the uber rich.
Some people are sporting non-Raw Mango…im just glad it wasn’t a sabya/MM event! Don’t mind looking at these sarees..atleast these are things found easily by the common man in local shops! HAH

Mission Mangal = Mission Mars. Not moon. Indian Space Research Organisation launched a mission to Mars in 2013 called MOM = Mars Orbiter Mission. This team had many scientists who were women and the photo published of them rejoicing when the rover landed on Mars became a sort of sensation because of their simple attire (normal sarees with pleated pallus and strings of jasmine in their hair). This is their everyday btw. You can google for it 🙂
Yup, it was great to see the many women that worked on this project and to see them being celebrated. Regardless of what they wore – what extraordinary minds!
