Absolutely gorgeous. All the South Indian actresses turned up in lovely Sarees that are timeless and Bollywood turned up in bra tops and over the top lehenga.
The Bollywood babes are either north Indian or represent the north Indian sentiments hence, their go to choice is to wear lehenga as deemed to be wedding appropriate. The cholis have given way to bras because they feel that it the only way to catch attention. Poor things..
I don’t understand. There are tons of North Indian handloom weaves that BW could support instead of cookie cutter over the top/ topping the bride type lehengas.
South Indians love generalizing all of the rest of India as North and hence uncouth and uncultured. Bollywood does not represent normal people of North India or anywhere for that matter. Also Shilpa Shetty, Shamita Shetty, Jhanvi Kapoor, deepika are south indians. I am pretty sure I have seen them in bras and lehengas. Stop making asinine generalizations and praise people without bringing 70% of the population of your country down
This is just my theory, hear me out. I think B’wood women think they will look sexier if they show more skin, and that they’re sending a signal to directors/producers that says “Hey! Look at me! I am sexy and you can cast me in your next gig, where I know you want someone sexy because sex sells!”. If you observe the women that dress classy in B town like Karisma Kapoor and Mira Kapoor, they are not necessarily the ones looking for a big Bollywood career, at least at this point.

utterly love. nayanthara is such a classic. fabulous bone structure, knows exactly what looks good on her — she’ll go wrong only very rarely (and only coz she’s human!) but she’ll always project her personal sense of style. more impressive than most of bollywood.
