In Anavila
Always one to wear a sari, Nandita didn’t disappoint on opening night of Cannes 2017. In her gold Anavila sari, she looked lovely. Wish we had pics of her from the red carpet.

Ugh, she is GLOWING. What an absolute vision, even in such a simple look.
It was disappointing!!!!
Washed out makeup and cloths blended too much
Lovely.
always the epitome and grace of an Indian woman
She looks lovely as always. A little bit of color on the face via lipstick or blush could have made it even better.
beautiful woman…agree washed out make up though
She looks sweet. But makeup/some color would have been better.
Lovely! Not a standout but she looks great and happy.
Nanditaaaa! She looks nice as always but this look is drab. Either a different (a deep rich shade) saree or different makeup would’ve made all the difference! I’m gonna go all PnP and say: I’m craving some pop of color. All that aside, how lovely is this woman. Love her.
i’m going to try really hard to copy this look
Dear Nandita – you are lovely, just lovely, no matter what you wear
Oh nandita you so are…
She is the only one that aces it at every Cannes outing, without even trying. Look forward to her appearance every year 🙂 So refreshing a beautiful.
+1
Nandita Das is beautiful and classy inside out. She is a vision in this saree. She is very dignified, simple and down to earth.
She is a vision! I love how she allows the saree to take center stage while keeping a demure, artsy look for herself… she is unlike anyone we have seen. She could have easily added color via make up but I love that she went so bare. almost quietly rebellious compared to the other heavily made up women on the red carpet. you go, girl!
I don’t know why people are complaining that the need for colour, especially through makeup. That’s not her aesthetic.
Have nothing against Nandita (who has a very “earthy” style ethic and is elegant in her own way) but after all that color and drama from Deepika this seems a bit dull.
yeah we’d like to see her over styled.
Oh, how much I would love to hand her a nice red lipstick!!!
Love fashion blogs but hate red lipstick
There are a few like us..
She looks radiant !! Love it. but yes a little colour via a blush would be lovely (red lipstick would seem much with this radiant elegance).
I believe that the way a persons true existense is the most beautiful form one can take.. I love this look <3
This is nothing but a washed out look. Its the look that prompts questions like “Are your not well?”.
And please stop calling it indian… Just a saree and big earnings does not make a look indian.
Love her for being herself. But yeah this is too one toned a look to stand out.
She looks lovely and graceful as always, but having an “earthy” style does not mean eschewing ALL makeup! A little bit of color would have made a HUGE difference.
Beautiful saree but the hair and make-up are disappointing. It needs better make-up and small shiny bindi. Also, a look is not “Indian” if it has no shiny, luxurious stright hair, this style is just drab.
So graceful and lovely, So Nandita.
She looks lovely and glowing – as per usual!
Beautiful woman. Frumpy saree… But that’s the case with all Anavila sarees. No idea why they’re so popular. And yes, some color by way of lipstick or eye shadow would have looked good.
She looks beautiful because she is Nanditha, who is absolutely beautiful with zero makeup; the saree and the styling does not enhance her beauty in anyway; a tiny bindi or a really delicate gold necklace or some reddish brown lip color would have really enhanced the look
