In Falguni and Shane Peacock

Comment image 24

At her first appearance on the red carpet, Mrunal was seen wearing a white Falguni and Shane Peacock gown. Hair in a side-part sleek do, her look was finished out with fish-bone drop earrings. Picking a white gown was surely a good move as she surely stood out at the night event. Having said that though, I am not a fan of the multiple cutouts and that ruffle. The gown surely feels a bit overthought out.

Boy, I miss the days of simple and elegant. Can someone/anyone just give us that?

  1. It’s not such a bad gown; a little over creative because the ruffle thing is a bit much. She carries it well though. A black version would have created a bigger (and better) impact.

  2. It feels like a lot of these Indian celebs/influencers are taking the “go big or go home” to a whole other level for Cannes! So far I have been disappointed with almost every look. I like Mrunal so I am surprised with her choices, it does feel like she’s trying too hard to make a statement.

  3. Why the unnecessary train. These have been done to death and have stopped creating any sort of dramatic effect.

Agree with Payal, give us something simple and elegant.

  4. Such a pretty girl, and kudos to her for oozing confidence and striking poses with grace and poise. The designer however let her down. But it’s her first outing and as an outsider it must not be easy getting access to the best stylists/designers. She should be proud for the effort 🙂

  5. Ya I’m also kinda bored of these huge gowns on the carpet, I want something like Anne Hathaway did last time but neverthless she looked nice in this.

  6. Hair & makeup are well-done. The gown isn’t all that bad – the ruffles are a bit too OTT sending it to the category of melodramatic (& therefore unbearable) instead of dramatic.

Mrunal has delicious curves – she should have opted for an ensemble that celebrates her pear-shape instead of submitting to the playbook of stylists striving to stand out in international events (and most likely failing at that!).

  7. Is Cannes now more about the carpet looks and not about the films? I remember how Nandita Das looked – understated classy style in beautiful sarees. I’m very confused about the goal here – is it to showcase their fashion or to showcase their art?

  8. Why do I see gettyimages when I click on pictures? And asks me to buy license for $499? It didn’t use to happen before. And I have to click on every picture separately and see this gettyimages written all over it

    • Pictures like these cost a lot of money to buy watermark free and hence We use Getty’s embeddable feature to show the unwatermarked versions. The clicking of it opens the original watermarked version. You obviously don’t have to buy. It is just to see the bigger version of it.

  9. This just went overboard.

She always looks sensational in Indian outings.

She should have chosen a clean design from a classy designer house.
