Lakshmi on Elle India:(Un)Covered

While Vogue gave us five dusky beauties on the beach in bikinis, Elle gives us one wearing a Dior dress. Feast your eyes on Lakshmi who graces the magazine’s April edition. We’ve got so many good covers this month that it is going to be real hard to pick a favorite! (Yes, that means we’ll be doing a poll soon.)

  2. WOW!!!! I think this is one of the best covers Elle has done in a really long time…..lakshmi looks stunning…and I simply love the Dior dress……it looks so much better on lakshmi than on the runway model….

  3. she looks lovely…if wearing a Dior dress for free isnt enough…she is also allowed (and paid!) to sit on wet sand wearing it! models have the good life, i say…

  4. I love this cover – the mood of the cover and Lakshmi’s styling are very compatible with the idea of the “Romantic Movement” that seems to be the big theme of this issue. For me, it’s between this one and Sonam’s adorable Grazia cover.

  6. Hmmm…interesting choice for a Spring time “romantic” cover. Nonetheless…Laxmi is stunning and I look forward to the day when Vogue….THE Vogue, Wintour’s Vogue features Laxmi on the cover.

    • Really? I would call the French Vogue THE Vogue. The American Vogue is one of the poorest out there, I think. I mean did you see their latest cover with Gisele? It is SO tacky what with the hoop earrings and the dated styling.

But yes, it would STILL be fabulous to see an Indian face on there. Either Lakshmi or Ujjwala Raut

      • Gisele’s cover pic is bad. Bur, the pics inside are better, I especially like the horse riding ones.

Lakshmi looks good. waiting to see if there are more pics to the shoot.

        • Well, maybe Dusk was referring to the fact that American Vogue is the original one, the one that started it all. I actually have some issues with French Vogue’s choices vis-a-vis its attitude toward racial diversity in its pages, but I do admire Carine Rotfield’s uncompromising vision. La Wintour of course is an icon, in that she reenergized American Vogue and often quite literally lays down the law when it comes to designers and trends, for better or for worse.

  7. DIOR, so of course I love 🙂 Laxsmi is amazing as always. I love her strong bone-structure and expression contrasted with the feminine dress and dancer-like pose. It causes interest.
