In Suket Dhir

While out and about, Kareena was spotted wearing a Suket Dhir kurta set with Chanel ballet flats and a brown Celine bag. I love the kurta set, but on the fence about the bag and footwear pairing. You like?

    • Yes they look like pajamas!!!
I saw women all over Delhi in July wearing these with stilettos and expensive bags and makeup roaming the malls

      Looked quite odd

    • I’m honestly no longer even sure what falls in the coords category. This, for instance, is a basic matching salwar kameez that women in south Asia have been wearing forever. The salwar and kameez being in the same fabric has never been unusual at all, and the contrasting top and bottom was just a style that evolved with time. On Kareena, this – though not designer or stand out – looks comfortable & fine. The coords that look like nightwear to me are the ones with shorter kurtis/tops and pyajamas. And yes, Kareena wears a lot of those too.

      • I agree – This is clearly a salwar-suit and till a few years ago, it was commonplace to have both the topwear and bottomwear matching each other – They were made from the same fabric.

      • You are right but if you have to go by suit sets from before it lhad a dupatta which also picked up the print. Also the bottom was a chudidar or salwar. Palazzos are recent and give a pajama vibe. Plus many prints are more of the type you find in pajamas. So on the whole pajamas for me:)

Simply from an apperance pint of view the monotony should be broken by something – dupatta, jacket, scarf, kurta buttons, brooch type of accessory.

      • This indeed is a salwar kameez (or call it parallel pant and kameez) since the cut of shalwar is little different than the parallel pant.
Even hhc called this “kurta set” in the description.

As per my understanding purely based on hhc. Co-ords are more of straight cut collared shirt with pajama(parallel pant). Exactly like night suits.
I have no idea why do we need to call night suits as Co-ords.. is it just because it is designer and celebrities are wearing it outside bedroom in day time with high heels, full face make up and designer bags.

  1. Kareena looks lovely. And I am so grateful for this trend. You can essentially wear this anywhere from Mumbai to London during summers!!!

  2. I actually has taken quite a liking for co-ords. They look chic and are super comfy.

This kurta set looks good on her

Not liking the shoe pairing one bit.

That bag, chanel or not, is plain ugly!

  3. How , just simply how people don’t get it. Designer always does not mean Avant Garde. Why don’t people realise this by just analysing the brands they have chosen over the years. When we were in college we wore things from the street or lets say a Max. Then you go for PG you refine your taste. You start working you wear Biba and W. As you kept going up the ladder , the brands and the price point went up. I would not dream of stepping in a Max now not matter if the fabric and all is the same. You choose things in your own league . The silhouettes are just so different too. At this point in my life , I would go for a Nicobar no matter how expensive it is .Simple. My intern would look at me and say oh that’s just basic cotton but to me its a lot of things . So a Kareena Kapoor will not wear a W or Biba , she will wear from some new or interesting or from an acquaintance who just started designing. Jeez the people.
