In Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla

Jaya and Shweta attended newly weds Ira and Nupur’s wedding reception on Saturday wearing the family favorite label, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. I liked Shweta’s muted kaftan kurta and pants set a lot. Jaya’s suit, not so much.

Shweta has worn this kaftan before as well. Thanks Somr for pointing it out!

  1. Shweta’s tall enough to carry off the kaftan — this is one of her better appearances. Jaya’s outfit looks like a circus ringmaster’s reject.

  2. Can I just say that the whole Bachchan family collectively has a really bad taste in clothes? Men are obsessed with velvet coats in loud colors and women are always in blingy big tents. Sigh.

  3. Like Jaya’ outfit color. If she had skipped the overcoat thing or atleast had better fit on the hands the look would have been more better.
Shweta’s out fit is so busy that even her tall structure is not able to carry it. Atleast simple modern styling instead of open hair, bindi, bangles would have made the look more nice.

  4. Jaya has a good collection of beautiful sarees. I can’t really understand why she would pick these AJSK designs over those…

The design on Shweta’s kaftan is making me feel dizzy.

  5. Assistant : Sir, look there are these little bits and bobs of fabric left over. Shall we chuck them out?
AJSK : Hmm, no, let’s just cut them into weird shapes and stitch them together like a patchwork
Assistant : but it’s not enough for a full dress.
AJSK : That’s okay, let’s get a plain fabric of the main blue and attach some of this as borders to, you know, knit the whole suit together
Assistant : Sir, it will look quite gaudy and bizarre, who will buy it?
AJSK : Oh, leave that to us, we know just who

  6. Apt for a party or dinner , not a wedding reception. Also these kinds of outfits can be made a little more glamorous & formal with traditional embroidery or zardosi on it as I’ve seen many kaftans & jackets like that which really elevates the outfit .
