aaah if i can think of somebody (indian) who rocked the jodhpuris it was menon for hermes spring….she looked fantabulous…i wonder if there is a full length pic of rohit, im not really liking it (much)for a guy from here
Gudda( Bal’s nickname) looked really good at the event. He has reintroduced this outfit, I say reintroduced because Raghuvendra Rathore did this years back in the 90’s as a ode to his heritage, and I am glad its back, because it has such an International appeal and it is so typically Indian at the same time, but of course the Americans who wear the Ralph Lauren’s version did not know it had its origins in India!!! Go figure
Yeah – jodhpurs are such a functional garment. I like to see them in the context of riding and polo and not much else. And if you are going to wear it in a non-riding context, then perhaps the riding boots should also be worn to complete the look.
Need to see a full length pic, but knowing Rohit Bal, he probably pulled it off. It doesn’t look so good just seeing it from the ankles. But in the other instances of his Jodhpur wearing days, once you see the full length pic, it really does look good.
And of course some of the other models, like Menon and Nina Manuel rocked it as well.
Adit – international appeal? I beg to differ. Jodhpurs have never had international appeal, despite a couple of (failed) attempts at popularizing them. Also, the “Americans who wear the Ralph Lauren” version, as you put it, do not wear it outside of the riding arena or tack rooms. It’s plain ridiculous to wear them in public.

Adit,
Had to edit out a word from your comment so as to not spark off a barrage of inflammatory comments (not that yours was, but we know what’d come next)!
