Deepika attended a talk in Mumbai on Thursday wearing a simple black sari by Sabyasachi featuring the designer’s signature Bengal tiger logo belt. It sure was a striking look and it was nice to have a Sabyasachi sighting where the person wasn’t drenched in heavy pieces from his jewellery line.

Elegant funeral was my first thought. The belt is ugly and unnecessary. At best the look, minus the belt, belongs in a magazine spread, not in company.

Not liking the lopsided belt. Sari is clean and classy, not much to fault but nothing too designer about it either.
Any Pam’s Chopra was in a pairs of jeans & top. I think a more casual ,easy going look would have worked better at the event
well she really likes to dress down and comfortable, doesn’t she. Even when it comes to indian wear the heavier she will go is an Anarkali suit

Bollywood doesn’t know event appropriate wear. The host was in jeans and our guest was dressed for a cocktail event. She looks striking no doubt but the overdressing seems quite jarring.
am not sure this can be considered overdressing? it’s a simple black saree, no embellishments, no ornate hair-do, barely any jewellery.

Striking woman, no doubt! But what is designer or “sabyasachi” about this? Add this to their line of H/M collabs and it honestly comes across like designer scams. Also I agree, we need to file away the belt trend.
nothing “designer” about the saree, tbh. belt looks out of place. the evolution of her brows is rather interesting. her new brows as of a few years ago have basically changed her whole face. and now this appears to be a new avatar of them brows!
I am sorry but can’t get past how bad her hair color looks against the black saree.

Nothing designer about this sari . Only reason it’s looking striking is coz she’s tall and fit . Belt is hideous and the makeup is making her look I’ll.
So true!! Also agree with the comment a few posts above regarding the hair colour looking terrible against the black saree.
