For her appearance at a recent screening, Rakul picked a separates set by Nikita Mhaisalkar to wear. Layered necklaces and pair of boots rounded out her boho-inspired look. At the launch of Jio Studios in Mumbai, the actor was photographed in a body-con dress by Gauge 81. The black mini looks like a clubbing staple from the early naughts and nope, that’s not a good thing.

Between the two looks, no prizes for guessing which I liked Rakul more in!

For their appearance at a recent awards event, both Raashi and Sharvari served us some color via evening gowns that featured draped shoulder details.

It was good to see the ladies opt for something other than the predictable sequinned/embellished/sparkly numbers that red carpets are lately overrun with. That said, I do think the ladies could’ve done better. The gowns seemed far too matronly and mature for them (not necessarily a bad thing always, but in this case, it was a definite snoozefest)!

A Separate(s) Story

While at a recent screening, Aditi was photographed in a pair of light-beige separates from Zara. For the promotions of her own series, she picked black separates to wear. Gold-toned earrings and centre-parted hair rounded out both of her looks.

She made both looks work for her. Bonus points for steering past an ornate and/or voluminous anarkali or evening gown.

In Gauri And Nainika

For the trailer launch of her upcoming movie, Pooja picked a Gauri and Nainika gown to wear. She looked nice but can we agree that the look lacked all novelty? It’s not so much the gown’s fault, it’s just that there was no reason to bring out a voluminous tulle gown with a train at that for a trailer launch. Especially looking at how practically everyone else was dressed at the event.

Over-exposure to evening wear is why most red carpet events are lately so underwhelming!

Shimmer And Shine

For their turn on the red carpet, all of these ladies picked sparkly gowns to wear to a recent awards night. I wish I could say there was a look that immediately stood out to me but that’d be a lie. Shriya’s look just seemed dated and costume-y to me. And Sania’s dress does nothing for her; the color completely washed her out. As for Mouni’s gown, am I the only one to think those straps seemed far too casual for rest of the gown? It just seemed so disconnected.

All in all, bit of a miss for all of these lovely ladies.
