In Tadashi Shoji

At the Stardust Anniversary honors, Nargis was photographed in a polka-dot Tadashi Shoji ruffle gown. Retro-inspired hair and pair of contrasting color Christian Louboutin pumps rounded out the actor’s look. Not everyone might feel the same but she was among my favorites from the night. It was a fun dress that worked well on her. And it (the dress) was an appropriate pick for the event- we didn’t really need to see another OTT, full-glam evening gown.

Of Gowns

Wearing jewel-toned evening gowns that featured cut-outs, both Nimrat and Bhumi attended a recent event in Mumbai. Can’t really say I was a fan of either gown, but Nimrat perhaps fared better in comparison; the color looked good on her! The gown’s only crime was that it looked dated!

Bhumi’s Gretel Z number however had the kitchen sink thrown at it- so many design elements and none of it did anything for the actor! The look was very reminiscent of these outings of hers, and we weren’t the biggest fans of those looks either. Ms. Pednekar sure can do better (and has), just wish she wouldn’t take “fashion” so seriously!

In Genny

Like Shriya, Vaani too picked a gown that featured both a plunging neckline and a thigh-high slit. But unlike Shriya, Vaani had no issue with the fit of her gown. The emerald necklace made for a nice contrast against the gown, an dthe ankle-strap sandals rounded out the look well.

As much as Vaani makes the gown (by Genny) work for her, I am not a fan of it. Between giving us some serious décolleté and leg, did the gown really need to feature a cut-out as well? I also think the hair and make-up let Vaani down a touch… Wish she had picked a softer hairdo and more dewy make-up. All in all, not a bad look but definitely not among Vaani’s best.

In Rimzim Dadu

For a recent appearance of hers, Sayani picked a Rimzim Dadu dress to wear. The dress looked great on her, and the Valentino ‘Rockstud’ sandals complemented the look well. Not a fan of the dark-lined lip personally, and while it might be fun/trendy, do think that the make-up brought down an otherwise great look!

In Nikita Mhaisalkar

While at an event held last evening, Shriya was photographed in a printed Nikita Mhaisalkar dress, one that featured an embellished bodice and a thigh-high slit. A Bottega Veneta ‘Knot’ clutch and pair of strappy black sandals rounded out the look.

I don’t know if a dress needs both a plunging neckline and a super-high slit, especially when the former doesn’t fit like a glove and there’s peekaboo brown inner-lining showing. That said though, Shriya made the dress work for her; she looked nice.
