Black Was The Night- Part Deux

The ladies both paired their black gowns with some rather long, statement necklaces. Or in Laila’s case, her dress’ embellished neckline mimicking a necklace.

While Shobhaa could’ve really done with just one necklace, we aren’t sure what Laila should’ve skipped on first, the earrings that compete with the neckline or the heavy-handed make-up. Or that dress altogether for another.

Black Was The Night

Both these ladies did black-and-gold for the Vogue shindig, pairing their dresses with traditional jewelry. Can you pick a look you prefer?

In Stella McCartney

Spotted a Stella McCartney on Michelle recently at the races. A pair of nude and orange slingbacks (also Stella M Zara), Dior clutch and a fascinator finished out her look. She looked good!

P.S: See Natasha Poonawala wear a version of this Stella McCartney print here.

In Iro

Her sartorial choices may be a hit or a miss but she has a distinct style of her own and keeps things fresh. And for that, a Natasha Poonawala sighting is always one to look forward to on these pages.

To some, this appearance of hers may come off as rather contrived but I’ll admit, I dig it. There’s a whole lot going on and she wears every bit of it well.

Natsha paired her Iro dress with a belt, multi-strand necklaces and spiked heel-less Zanotti wedges.

In Kallol Datta

In a Kallol Datta tunic and leather leggings, Nina Manuel attended the Vogue anniversary do. The peep-toe heels that disappeared into the leather pants that disappeared into the tunic was a rather severe look but not in the least bit ineffective. Ms. Manuel worked it.

I did however have a gripe over the choice of clutch which just didn’t look like it belonged (with rest of her look). Would’ve much rather seen something metallic picking up on those bangles or just a plain black one making the red of her lips pop against the look even more.
