    • It’s not a ridiculous trend. I am a scientist, I work in a lab where you are required to wear comfortable and closed toed shoes. In several other professions requiring comfy footwear (or even to just go for a walk), women often wear sneakers/converse with skirts or dresses. Let’s be feminine and practical. Its great when a star like her wears something so relatable.

      • Lol comprehension skills are pretty much non-existent. No one is talking about work related dressing and/or medical issues-related footwear. Those are not classified as ‘trends.’

        • Even when not considering “work-related” or “medical” footwear, wearing sneakers with skirts is 1) not considered un-feminine as you are implying 2) is commonplace when socializing, generally hanging out, running errands etc 3) is not a “trend” that will die, but has been done for the longest time 4) the expectation that women must prefer so called “feminine” shoes such as ballet slippers or heels is unfair.

          • 1. The skirt Anushka is wearing is a decidedly feminine piece. You continue to (wrongly) interpolate assumptions and implications about a literal statement that I made.
            2. Wearing sneakers with EVERYTHING has not been a historically commonplace fashion choice and is a fairly recent trend. See also: Rhea Kapoor wearing sneakers with a lehenga to Sonam Kapoor’s mehendi.
            3. See 2.
            4. Again, you chose to make a blanket statement about what women are expected to like or dislike going as far as to self-proclaim the fairness of a comment that nowhere implies as such.

    • I have been wearing sneakers with everything since I was in school! It’s just comfortable and fun. Way better than teetering on heels or blah ballet shoes. Really hope this ‘trend’ goes on and on and I can continue to consider myself a pioneer:)

      • Umm ok if that’s what you prefer. There are tons of flat shoe options, so no- teetering on heels isn’t the only alternative to shoes.
