Sari Style

Ananya wore an orange benarasi sari from Swadesh paired with an embellished blouse from Manish Malhotra. This would’ve been a great look if not for the blouse. Adding that border on the cups was so unnecessary.

Was the blouse a deal breaker for you?

  1. Can Blingy Malhotra please stay away from this genre and stick to mainstream bollywood. my eyes cant bear this sacrilege in how he destructs every beautiful piece (originally meant to glorify artisans and ethnic weaves) and instead he turns it into a OTT stand up comedy with Bolly muses carrying the humor. Sorry, the joke is on MM and the Bolly brigade 🙁

  2. I don’t mind the blouse. It’s such a gorg saree and the colour looks amazing on her. The jewellery is on point too and she looks so pretty.

This would have been a 10 for me if it was draped better. When will this awful draping trend come to an end.

  3. The border on the cups is the least of the problems. The villain is the drape — truly crass and reeking of desperation. Such a pity, considering how beautiful the saree is and she does look nice neck up. I’m not sure why they must abuse a saree this way, easier and far more stylish to just wear a deep neck gown if you want to show cleavage.

  4. The splendour of a weave always overshadows the designer hand embroidery work that lends the “designer element”. Case in point is the outfits worn by Ananya, Aditi and Khushi. Payal you should cover what Raveena Tandon wore. She looked sharp and yet paid homage to the weavers.

  5. It is the drape that makes this look bad. Is the stitching of the border to the chest area a master piece of art, that it had to showcased with this one boob show drape?

  6. Lovely saree vulgar drape.
I would be interested in knowing if it is an heirloom saree from her grandmother or her mom!
But seeing the dhinchak trim and the maroon at the edge seems like a mediocre BWiya designer creation

Only gripe is the tiny blouse and one boob drape.

  8. Can someone tell me why the blouses are getting tinier and narrower? Are we going back to our tradition of bare chests or wearing no blouses at all? if thats the case it might be better for everyone to do it in one go rather than these slow painful phases. I recently read that the trend of blouses was started byJnananandhini Devi Tagore (sis in law of Rabindra Nath Tagore) to fit the modesty norms of the colonial times but now that we are a free country maybe we can just go back!
