Ananya attended the Filmare Awards wearing a bandhani sari featuring a bustier with sequins in a patola-inspired pattern from Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. The pick was an ode to Gujarat’s craft (where the awards were held) and I thought it was incorporated well without looking gimmicky. She looked good.

Beautiful embroidery indeed – but where’s the sari? Understandably, the bustier was meant to be the centrepiece. Why erase the main garment out of existence? A skirt could suffice.
Omg can’t believe I’m saying this but this AKSK take on a legacy craft isn’t half bad. Doesn’t pardon what they did with Alia’s ajrakh and jamdani but this at least isn’t a travesty like those two takes.
I love love love this creation! So classy and yet contemporary looking. I would kill to buy this. @payal – Do you know if this for sale online?
