Alia attended two charity events in London first in a custom velvet gown from Gucci and then in a sari from Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.
I a bit more partial towards the sari here just because of its age (it is a 30 year old one) and the pearl detail on the blouse. She looked lovely in it. That is not to say she looked bad in the Gucci. She looked nice in it as well.

Both the vintage sari & the velvet gown did her justice. Alia looked drop dead gorgeous ! Sophisticated yet an elegant way to represent the cause.
there’s nothing designer about the gown like that could be from the nukkar wale chacha’s shop, that said she looks rather nice in the saree

Didn’t DP also wear an AJSK pearl blouse to Cannes? She is a mini DP clone in terms of style, in many, many ways. I would say, she is the petite DP fashion version and wears DP’s clothes that would suit a petite frame. Almost all her clothes/style events lack individuality.
The saree is so blah, looks like a curtain/ table cloth (don’t care if it’s 30 years old). Also doesn’t help that it’s so shabbily draped and carried (I bet you would’ve called out someone else but she gets a free pass). The gown colour is gorgeous but design is so basic (Gucci you need to up your game for your ambassador). Don’t understand how one can wear 20 million dollar diamond necklaces for a charity event to raise money for underprivileged in India. Very performative
Ya it’s kind of the billionaire gala where the Uber rich are called for a cause and fundraise via sponsorships, auctions, etc, tickets/seats.. so off course the famous (stars) add glam to these events. These are rotational events with invite or paid only guests lists, so the richer the guests yoy.. better.. That’s usually how fundraising n charity affairs work.
I’m curious about the 30 year old sari. What does that mean exactly? Was it designed and made 30 years ago but was never sold until now? Was it worn in the past and it was resold now? Was it Alia’s mom’s sari?
