LFW Autumn 2009: Abdul Haldar
Designer Abdul Haldar presented an all ethnic collection consisting of ornate lehengas, churidar-kurtas, saris and two-toned silk sherwanis for men. If the next bridal season was what Abdul had in mind as target, then this collection seemed apropo for it.

Red-green lehenga is gorgeous. The pink suit-second row-left reminds me of that baby blue suit Katrina wore for a spa launch inclusive of that stone detailing in the bust area.
wooops..second row-right !
Personal opinion – Seems ordinary and very “been there done that”. I don’t see anything different other than vibrant colors. I can see the Indian television entertainers wearing these only.
Very bright! Hah, I’d looove to see some American men pull off the colors in THOSE sherwanis! I also really like that first churidar- kurta… Will definitely be hunting for something similar for the spring/summer!
is it just me or does anyone else also not see anything “designer” in this?
the chudidars are sooo fitted, can you sit down with them!
The churidars could actually be spandex/cotton blend leggings.
I dont like this collection, boring. I first thought maybe it was a part of the barbie show- when i saw the bubble gum coloured fitted churidar kurtas.
* Joins Dia’s hunt for the designer bits*
If my groom wore those colours, i would run away.
Nope Dia not just you, very Karol Bagh/ Lajpat nagar (for Delhites i.e.) feel to it!! And the colors are so tween!!!
I can’t imagine any guy wearing these colors. Maybe Akshay Kumar..with his yellow loafers… 🙂
I love this collection, its simple with nice clean lines…I love 1st and 2nd row right…so simple yet beautiful
