Desi Girls

At the preview of Nishka’s festive collection, Nishka and Zareen were spotted wearing suits from the collection. While Zareen may have had an edge on the cheery color, it was Nishka’s look that we liked more.

In Shivan & Narresh

It was a bespoke cut-out Shivan & Narresh dress was Manasi at a recent launch. A Bottega Veneta clutch and Jimmy Choo heels completed her look. The color looked great on her, the gown, am not as convinced.

The Blues

Both Alia and Soniya picked blue dresses to wear at their respective events. Alia picked a Miss Selfridges dress and completed her look with a side braid and Steve Madden shoes. For Soniya, the dress was a flea-market find and she too wore her hair on the side. A metal necklace, a pink shoulder bag and shoes from Dune completed her look.

WLIFW Spring 2013: Rahul Singh, Manish Gupta, Ritesh Kumar

Rahul Singh

In his collection, Rahul Singh used tie-dye to give his fabrics different patterns. The results while interesting definitely needed to be taken to the next level. The way the pieces were put together/styling seemed off too.

Manish Gupta

Titled ‘Primrose’, Manish Gupta’s collection as the name would suggest was influenced by the flower. In nudes and blush-pinks, the mood was soft for Sprig-Summer. Some of the looks, very wearable. But hardly exciting.

Ritesh Kumar

This was one of the collections that definitely stood out with its use of texture, color, layering and silhouettes. The dress on the far right with the sheer layered on jacket was among the favorites.

WLIFW Spring 2013: Preeti Jhawar, Rajdeep Ranawat, Abhi Singh

Multiple Fashion Weeks mean multiple designers get a chance to show their designing chops to the industry. Here’s your peek at three more designers…

Preeti Jhawar

Few wearable dresses aside, nothing really to gush over. Wasn’t especially fond of the Indian-wear presented.

Rajdeep Ranawat

Rajdeep Ranawat’s collection ‘Santorini’ like the name suggests, drew inspiration from the Mediterranean city. Digital prints of baroque influences, florals and the city itself were used throughout the collection. The collection may have checked all the right boxes in the inspiration check-list but the collection didn’t evoke any of the romanticism that the city does.

Abhi Singh

Inspired by ‘Monolithic Skyscrapers’, Abhi Singh presented a collection that was draped, contoured and heavy on the fringe.
