I think you shouldn’t post Vidya’s pics on here. People are just going to say mean things and it’s not fair for her because she’s not trying to compete with fashionable people. She’s just here to act.

I agree with you. What’s the point in getting her trashed? Leave her alone.

Most sensible comment I have read here in a long time.

That’s precisely why they feature Vidya here.

This ^^^. You spoke the truth. That is why they feature her.

I think the fact that she is promoting a movie and is wearing a designer sari, she is bound to be featured here. We can choose not to comment on it (especially if its the same repeated negative comments). By now we all know she has a 3D printer which spits out the same blouse design time after time ; ))

        1. ritika at | | Reply

She has enough dough to buy designer saris but the commenters don’t have enough class to pause and think whether she deserves their trashy comments (She has a 3D printer that spits out same blouse in different colours, her permanent arm crook, she is shabby, she ruins everything she wears, clown make up etc etc etc). Therefore featuring her here and getting her trolled is not fair.

You are right but in any case, Vidya doesn’t care and wears whatever she wants to only to ruffle “a few” feathers over here everytime (these are those “bashers” who flock together, lol). It’s mighty funny actually, because some readers get their dose of trolling her while Vidya continues to do what she wants to. That, she is having the last laugh is very much evident from how she turns up everytime without caring about anyone, LOL.

Agree with you. I can already see the bashing coming for the cream saree look because of bad eye makeup. Trust some readers out here to direct the comments for her makeup to even the saree, stretching it to jhola or what not.
I have always liked how saree falls below her waist. The pleats are always nicely done considering her height and body. I gotta give it to her for dressing as per body type and not giving that unimpressive one boob show like many do. She looks great in the black saree; so graceful! <3

        to even to the saree*

She looks very pretty especially in the black and grey.

Beautiful woman in beautiful saris. Very elegant. Site for sore eyes she is.

I love both the saris. Do not like the jhola. She has a lovely collection of saris , as lovely as her looks. She may not be the most stylish person around or a fashionista but there is something very charming about her. Graceful, as they would say in olden times.

Totally agree. Something attractive about her and happy that she is a champion for sarees. Charm, wit and intelligence combined a rare combination in Bollywood.

Usual shabbiness trademarked by Ms. Balan. That cream and red saree combo had so much potential; she just ruins it completely. And that arm crook looks so uncomfortable; when is she gonna abandon it. Black saree look is the better one here. Still piqued by her uncomfortable arm crook.

    1. Avani at | | Reply

Hahaha. You said it. Shabbiness-Unkepmtness is synonymous with Ms. Balan. Been like that for many years. :P Now there is the clown make up too added.

      1. Kirsa at | | Reply

        Agree +100
And then there are peeps who are actually piously keeping eyes on their favourites’ posts and whenever there is a negative comment they spring into action. What’s the point then in their presence on a fashion blog which is just a medium to critique looks which might range from nays or yays or anything in between and strangely this sensibility and sensitivity arrives only when their favourites are being critiqued!!

        1. Avani at | | Reply

Yeah, completely agree. The hypocrisy is rather funny. Its not like we can’t see/read what their comments are on others and how they join in to spit nasty comments on who they dislike. I have my own favorites and I dont care what others write to go around leaving comments on their comments because it is not going to change the fact of how that celeb looks to me. These juveniles lack that confidence on their favs is what I feel, they want everyone to acknowledge it. And also maybe their own fashion sense (or lack thereof) is the same as the celebrity they are supporting. So it is offending them at a personal level. Yeah there is a name for such offended ones but P&P won’t let me use it.

          1. Kirsa at |

Yeah you said it. Its their lack of confidence in their fav celebs or rather they feel personally targeted-that might be the possible reasons they go on an unending rant on negative comments on their fav celebs’ posts. It’s like they want to put words into others’ mouths. Juvenile way to react, plain stupidity, literally!

        2. Avani at | | Reply

Yes, Kirsa. Let these lame fans keep getting their grandma panties in bunches. It is quite funny to see these juveniles raging in anger spitting nonsense just like their own fashion sense & their favs. Maybe those demented posing will help in handling their rage. Lol. Truth is hard to digest when it comes to personal shabby favs and obviously their own hypocrisy blinds them. We will continue to leave our comments. ;)Cheers!

            Yeah :)

Love both the sarees, and am just going to ignore that arm-crook since I think it’s permanent. BUT. THAT. JHOLA.

  8. Apsara77 at | | Reply

I think Vidya looks really pretty in both sarees. The make-up in the cream one could have been better. I really don’t care what Vidya wears because she is such a brilliant actress with a great personality which shines through despite what she’s wearing. I love that she wears Indian clothes, especially sarees that are not the usually blingy Bollywood kind. I think some of the negative comments say more about the classist, casteist nature of the commentators rather than Ms. Balan.

    1. Paroma at | | Reply

I find her appearances repetitive sometimes, but I really really appreciate the fact that she wears “non-Bollywood” saris.
As for the negative comments, making spiteful comments usually says a lot more about the person making them than the person they’re aimed at. Bluebells is right, I’m sure Vidya is too busy having a life to come on here and obsess over comments that, frankly, sound a little deranged at times.

      1. BlueBells at | | Reply

Thank you Paroma. :) Next time let’s just grab popcorns to watch the show of spiteful words going waste, LOL.

        @Apsara77: Thumbs up!!

+1 , In the name of having opinion , people definitely act demented and downright nasty and mean .
Love vidya for her warmth and personality .

        1. BlueBells at | | Reply

Hahahaha Sarah. I know right. I feel sorry for these one or two commentators lurking around (who basically flock together) as Vidya continues to give them the taste of their own medicine with her clothing choices. These bashers are going berserk and before you know it, vidya is again featured on HHC wearing whatever she wants to. ;)

          1. Ashes of Roses at |

This is so true. The comments shows the class (or classlessness) of the commentators rather than the celebrity they aim it at. Vidya looks lovely in both her earthy looks, minus the jhola.

          2. Priya at |

Yes classlessness is the right word for these commentators. Very cheap.
            Yucky comments.

          3. BlueBells at |

            @Ashes of Roses and @Priya
Absolutely true. I think in some way or the other everyone of us is a hypocrite and a lot of times, it is unintentional. But then hypocrisy combined with classlessness is damaging. That is precisely why I said that these “bashers” flock together (You will regularly see some together). Negativity moves around in packs as each member requires the other to play verbal volleys against somebody. Some of these commentators consistently praise their “fav” celebs by preaching dress sense to those who might giving off looks that don’t match with their own or their fav celebs’ personal sense of style. And they do so by calling the latter ” cheap wannabes”, “try hards”, “behenji”, “aunty” with demented poses and other such cutting words. If they are so damn confident of their choices and of their favourites, their fav celebrity would stand unrivalled in their mind and in their comments no matter how he/she dresses. They wouldn’t need comparisons. Or better still, draw comparisons in a way that doesn’t belittle somebody who you don’t like. So basically, blame others for hypocrisy or what not and simultaneously bash your not so fav celeb to wear or behave in a certain way via mean words!? That is seriously some new level of low apart from regularly spewing venom!

Point is – There is no harm in criticising. But if you want to show that you are a person of opinions (which everyone has!) using spiteful language is not the only way of showing it. That also explains why only SOME commentators get trolled quite regularly on HHC; it is NOT the opinion/criticism that gets trolled, it is the language that gets slammed. And then you can’t always justify malicious words under the garb of “mah choice, mah opinion”, lol.
