In Masaba

Wearing a Masaba sari fresh off the AIFW runway, Sonam attended a charity related event in Mumbai on Tuesday. The sari with its all over print did feel busy and in keeping the hair simple, Ms. Kapoor was able to downplay the print quite a bit.

Was it enough to balance out the look?

  1. What do people like in Masaba’s designs? I always find them gaudy and the colors are not exactly easy on the eyes. Also, Sonam’s make up in close ups looks too greasy.

  2. I quite love the look from head to toe. It’s interesting. The only thing – I feel like the earrings while pretty, don’t really go with the look.

Btw, P&P, really like the easy browsing experience for the photos posted “inside”.

she really does these soft looks well.

I do think pearl studs (single or how she’s worn) with soft looks turn it into a very mature look.
A drop pearl usually works much better.

        • Yes I hate Masaba clothes but ONLY Sonam in this entire world can pull off a Masaba and make it look fashionable. Yes as you said the big pearl studs will go into Hillary Clinton mode. Yeah I wear drop earrings and chandelier earrings when I do a dressy look. 🙂

Btw who do you want to become the next United States President?

  3. That is way too much of print to make out anything. The drape is sloppy too. I wish she had worn the saree with a deep red silk sleeveless blouse and draped the saree well. That would have made the look more striking. Those earrings are a bit of an eyesore.

  4. I like this. Though not a traditional sari, I love the silhouette and most importantly no skin show, very dignified but still modern. You know, now a days people think baring cleavage is modern.

Though the outfit is OTT for the event, this is Sonam and being grand and princessy is her signature style. I like the makeup, earrings, that clutch everything. She is carrying the outfit really well exuding confidence and grace.

  5. Wow,I think Sonam herself is feeling uncomfortable in this look ! At first I thought that the earrings were okay but on a closer look even they seem to be not working with the outfit ..

  6. Its strange no doubt.. too much of pattern yet to her credit as usual she does make it look good with her styling and make up.
She really has a finger on the fashion pulse..

  7. Sonam as always looks very pretty and classy. I quite liked the print of the saree but saree with same print blouse looks way too busy. Hot pink silk blouse would have made print pop-up!

  8. looked more like a dress and less like a saree , specially with the blouse . too busy. I wish the blouse was beige and monochrome, that way the saree would have played out better.

As it is too busy for me

  9. I kinda like the saree, the print is very different…I won’t wear it but don’t mind it on Sonam…I think she and Kangana can pretty much pull off anything…most of the time atleast.
