The Jewel Files
You may or may not have noticed but ever since her wedding, Ms. Mukherjee in addition to her traditional Bengali bangles has also been sporting several enamel Halcyon Days ones. Just about each and every appearances sees her wear the set of four without fail.
Wonder what the secret is behind this obsession is?

May be a gift from someone close? 😛
Notice the shades of red and white? I think, since she is married to a punjabi, she is sporting her own branded version of ‘chuddas’. Punjabi women wear chuddas after their wedding for a set period of time. Clever 🙂
I have been noticing too since I have few colors of similar bangles from Kate spade. Love’em!
I don’t know about the bangles but all of her looks are cringeworthy..
A modern spin on the Punjabi choora tradition?
Hahaha … you girls are funny …. I thought those are the modern version of Punjabi Choora
I am not liking her looks one bit lately.
Those are called Shankha a traditional bengali bangle made of sheels worn by married women. She is a married bengali woman. Do not see the reason of this critical post. What is so strange about it?
Eh? They did acknowledge the shakha and polla that Rani is sporting. Which many married Bengali women wear as per tradition. But i think the bloggers are questioning (or rather wondering about) the addition of the extra enamel bangles which seemingly do not have any traditional/religious significance. I don’t think it was critical at all. perhaps we should take a deep breath.
Ok, in the last pic, she is totally channeling Daler Mehendi’s “Bolo Tara Ra Ra” pose :P. Have been disliking her overall fashion choices post marriage – not that they were stellar before…
The bracelets are adding to the already tackiness going on. All the appearances she looks equally bad.
I don’t think the shades of red and white are her version of chuddas. It’s like the post says — traditional Bengali bangles that a married woman wears. They are called shankha (made from conch shell) and pola (made from coral).
No one’s being critical of her traditional bangles. The post is about what she’s wearing in addition to the red and white bangles. Some people should first read the post.
Good job identifying the enamel Halcyon Days bangles, P&P. I was wondering they were!
Congratulations Rani!!! 🙂
I too have been observing these Halcyon Days bangles on Rani Mukherji ever since her wedding. She wears them without fail whether they are in sync with her ensemble or not! There’s another bangle that she’s been sporting regularly too — it’s a rose gold bangle with channel set diamonds — is that a Cartier or Tiffany & Co or Bvlgari?
