Sari Style
Some of you have complained about Nandita’s appearances being much too ‘normal’ to really comment on… But, sometimes ‘normal’ isn’t so bad you know. On these pages, it sure makes for a welcome respite every now and then.
P.S: The grey sari on right is Raw Mango.

Love her style!! Gray one is better IMO but both are fabulous.
and consistent..I have never seen her do a sari wrong!
each time I see her on this page, it is so refreshing from those women who wear tacky, blingy and gaudy traditional attires and not to mention those with excessive skin show..she’s like the remedy for the eye sore 😛
This is one cool drink of water! Was just remembering the pictures I saw of her and Konkonas’ weddings, and mentally comparing them to the ones we’ve seen lately on HHC. Couldn’t be more different, and no marks for guessing which ones I prefer!
love ths:)
…and this ladies (I’m looking at Shveta Salve, Masaba and Anushka from the above post), is how one does a saree. Nandita looks wonderful!
This is how a saree should be draped! Very elegant.
Agreed 🙂
Nothing “normal” about it. It reflects flawless style and design aesthetic. I wouldnt pull this look down by calling it “normal” just because it doesnt have “designer” stamped all over it.
Agree. Love the grey and red combo.
I totally agree… it speaks impeccable style!!!
love the grey one…beautiful n beautifully draped
I wouldn’t say normal, but dull. She is an attractive woman…she can do so much better!
I Agree…..a classic traditional look is never out of fashion!
Don’t know about normal but stunning is the word that comes to mind. What a beautiful woman.
Agreed – Nandita Das is beautiful!
Love the drape!!! She looks lovely.
The saree on the left, I think, is from a Calcutta store called Byloom 🙂 Love both looks!
Breath of fresh air! Love this woman!
Oh she is go good!!
thank god for this…or maybe HHC 😉 after those shilpa reddy drapes!!!!
This is how my mom dresses. Although I do appreciate it, the same look for eVery appearance does get a little boring. It’s like PC and her minis. Not bAd… But no fun either!
there you go. THIS is how to wear a sari. you bollywood fashion victims (here i am looking at you one boob poppers and sloppy pleaters) need to get this basic thing right. i dont care WHO you stylist is and how expensive your manish malhotra halter top is.
One of the very few celebrities who wears her sarees the way they should be worn!
Wow Nandita looks barely older than when she first came on screen. And she (and Konkona) look even better post baby.
She looks great. Normal isn’t bad, but I know a lot of elegant women in my mother’s circle who dress like this. But this is a fashion blog, so I don’t think being normal is enough to be featured on it.
She looks lovely! I especially like her in Grey sari. This is how real women dress. I am glad that she is herself and has not succumbed to the pressure to dress fashionably all the time..
She looks lovely! Love both appearances.
She looks beautiful… love both the looks!
More, please. I’m sure we all love sightings of such grace, elegance and simplicity.
PERFECT words to describe Nandita!
Mumbai’s own Amala.
She’s a knockout.
well if you HAVE to be stuck in one sari look then this is so much more graceful & better than Vidya stuck in Sabya!!
Now this is how a saree is done. How graceful and elegant does she look. Love the bangles (glass ??) in the second picture.
She looks better than a handful of Sophie Chaudhary’s and Sameera Reddy’s of the world.. and a host of other women whose singular achievement in life is to dress typical and rich, that websites like yours routinely feature… If ever there was an icon worth emulation and admiration, this woman is it. She looks beautiful and I second the person who called the post a breath of fresh air 🙂
AGREEEEEEEEEE!
So boring! She does look nice but its the case with herve leger on socialites or skinshow on malaika. It’s all good but where is the variety, so blah. And not to miss the chappals on the second pic, yuck!
too boring.I can find this look around the house all the time, no need to spend time online
She’s soo pretty!
Beautiful. Such a relief after watching the too embellished blouses, too frill sarees, or barely there net sarees 🙂
If you guys know where these sarees are from, could you post the info please? Pretty please 🙂
love the sari but gosh she needs to start putting some color on her face
Oo la la! What a breath of fresh air indeed. A full 10 on that sari drape! Can’t say have seen a lovelier, completely owned, effortlessly elegant style on HHC.
Hate transparent cotton saris(or whatever material she is wearing on the right) as much as net saris where you can see the midriff completely.
I, infact, love the cotton sheer saris and the midriff show, thats indian sexy for me. The pallu at the bosom is rightly doubled for cover up.
Nandita das needs to change her name to nandita class cause she has bucket loads of it
What is this saree and where can I get this in Bombay? Please someone respond – am visiting Bombay next month.
Clearly the reason why saris have stood the test of time…classic, elegant and will still be stylish twenty years from now’!
