I wouldn’t wear it meaning I couldn’t pull off a look like that!

Agreed. It’s very hard to pull off but she looks greAt. Wish the blouse fitted a little better.

I didn’t see that you are replying to yourself, so my first thought on reading your comment was ‘why the hell is Arti being so nasty to somebody?!’ :D

It’s an Osari, which is the actual name for a Kandyan sari in Sri Lanka, but close enough though! I think she actually wear it well!

thanks pnp for appreciating ppl that take risks like sonam and now even jacqui, spoken like true fashionistas! I’ve always felt you guys are fair!

Without offending anyone, I feel she looks like an air-hostess.
I wish she’d worn her hair differently, chosen a diff color – sonething

she looks stunning! always a refresher to see someone experiment well with their wardrobes and not go for the same ‘ol looks.. love

That’s a modern take on the Sri Lankan sari. According to my Sri Lankan friend, a traditional Kandyan would have less tummy showing and a bigger frill on the stomach. The Batik is appropriate.

this isn’t the original Sri Lankan sari. its a moderized version of it. she should have worn the real one. that’s much elegant

nice kandiyan sari looks gd on her…

Yes you got it right. Its the Kandyan saree but worn a little bit urm, different. (Like how Amisha Patel gets the Pallu wrong :P )

But still Kudos to Jaqueline for pulling it off on a red carpet!!!! She sure does look lovely!

Except in a traditional Kandyan saree that sash across the front would be wider (just like in a regular saree) and end in a regular saree pallu. I’d say this is a modern take on the traditional Kandyan.

i agree, leave these kinda risks for halloween. im sure there probably was a better way of wearing this sri lankan sari

blouse stitch is bad… n it would hv been better if it was hidden
bt yea her confidence n smile hlps

Nah not for me,honestly people wear tacky sarees all the time and we tear them to pieces,i find this tacky and hav seen better versions before(jus didnt know it was the sri lankan sari)

Kudos to her for going the Sri lankan route and i do think she looks fab. That aside, i do not think this is the real traditional form of the saree. It is definitely stiched and not draped. It looks like it has gone through Tarun Tahiliani before it came to Jacq.

Its not actually the Kandyan saree (the traditional sri lankan saree)… but more like a modern take on it.

Love the outfit! It may be a modern take on the Sri Lankan variety but girlfriend is working it!
