In Sabyasachi

89

At the Giant Awards in Mumbai tonight, Deepika picked up an award wearing a Sabyasachi look straight off the LFW runway. While we do love the separates, adding that fur necklace made the look feel not just costumey but also very stuffy.

Also, while the hair and makeup was nice, it wasn’t the right pairing for this outfit. A glossy lip and a soft wispy updo might have balanced the outfit better. But then, we would have also picked a different outfit for the event as well.

Lot more pics inside!

  1. I could have never imagined Deepika going with something like that! I don’t like any of it, and at first I even thought that fur necklace was a part of her dress.

  2. TBH this doesn’t even look like Deepika, especially the 3rd pic. The outfit is indescribable, and not in a good way. I think Shaina NC’s expression in the last pic sums it up :-)

  3. Its all too much and too wrong. And that outfit is plain ugly…bad mishmash of colors, glitter, embroidery, prints. And if all that fur around her neck is a necklace, I can’t think of any outfit, however simple, that the necklace would go well with. Sorry, but even Deepika cannot save it.
Where does the necklace start btw? Is the glittery collar part of the necklace?

  4. omg !!! I could not believe my eyes. May be this a theme event everybody has to dress up like ‘Giants’, hence the costume dress with the fur necklace.
If not. This looks too costumey and Yes, not adding the necklace and changing the make up hairstyle would have made a huge difference.

  5. The intricate work on the top is extremely beautiful.
As for the makeup, her beautiful natural dusky complexion would have done wonders to the outfit.

  6. Wow , here’s a line I thought I would never say but it is a 100% true now .! –
    “Deepika Padukone looks GHASTLY!”.
Seriously what the hell is she wearing ?! Its like her stylists got into a bet with someone saying ‘You think Deepika will look good in whatever she wears?! Let me get her into an outfit that will make you rethink your idea !!’

  7. Such a heavy makeup and how is she becoming fairer and fairer with each passing day? I genuinely want to know. Its surely not just makeup. Even her hand looks white.
PS. Still trying to figure out what exactly the outfit is!

  10. I don’t like the outfit .. Loved the shirt but wished she pair it with a skirt .. Like a lehenga look !!
Was hoping for a bun it would elevate the look more.
Loved the necklace and her makeup

  11. I think its high time Deepika changes her stylist. Really wish she would go back to Anaita. Of late, there have been more misses than hits. Of all the Sabya outfits she could have picked from!
And what’s with the need to be whitewashed with makeup? She has such lovely skin otherwise.

  13. Hmmm….we should give due credit to the makeup artist. Really used her face as a canvas for heavy duty “painting”

The dress and necklace makes her look as some sort of hybride between native american and an eskimo!

    • I don’t think anyone would turn up like this in public no matter what amount of money is paid to him/her. It is probably Ranveer’s effect gone wrong!

  14. Anaita – COME BACK!!! Man, just the way DP looked during her Cocktail-YJHD days were amazing. Now, all her appearances are simply underwhelming, with this one trying to yank my eyeballs out.

    • Oh God PLEASE!!! If Anaita is back the only thing we can see of any actress is cleavage , crotch high slits and butt crack all at the same time with high heels!
I think the look is ott for sure. But then i also think Deepika carries it off.

  15. This is atrocious taken to another level. I am not surprised Shaleena chose this outfit out of Sabya’s rest of the amazing collection. Only she is capable of doing that. But what surprises me the most is she is still hired by the likes of Deepika and Katrina. Disappointing!

  16. What on earth is that hair and make-up?? There’s literally a mask there…
I happily overlook most bad /fashion-victim-like looks, but some really make you wonder if they looked in a mirror at all…

    • Deepika probably thought everything else is terrible so might as well give up and roll over. Her makeup and hair team thought the clothes were so bad that no one would even look at her face – so why bother making an effort

  17. I am just going to close my eyes and walk away. pretend I never saw this post. OMG! I am so curious to know what was she thinking she looked like in the mirror, just before stepping out for the event.

  18. Lolol. Sabyasachi should probably find something better to do. This is just fugly. It looks like the bad costumes of many many moons ago in Indian cinema when they used to represent it as “arab” costumes.

  19. It is one of those days when you wake with a sprained neck and just don’t feel like getting out of your comfy PJs. But one has to keep commitments. No worries. Just call Sabyasachi. He will give you a orthopedic collar dressed up in feathers and PJs that will look exorbitant. Done and done !
