red? what red? my eyes are dazzled by the bling!
that said, what a good-looking couple they make.

Ah, the bling and all the red on Ms.Rai! :(
    AB looks dapper, though

I also wonder if it is ok to wear red to a Hindu wedding/reception if you aren’t the bride? I thought red was a Hindu bride’s colour, like white is a Christian bride’s cokour.

Anyone and everyone can wear red in a wedding to match the festivities.

        Some Hindu brides wear white.

Oh god aishwariyas bad taste strikes again! This women couldn’t do understated glamour if it hit her in the face.

I feel like this is a look you should not wear to someone’s wedding – it’s inconsiderate in the way that it seems to be competing with the bride (whether the bride wears red or not). They actually look like they’re at their own wedding……

Never thought I would say this but Abhishek must be embarassed by Aishwarya here. So gaudy and gaudy is also an understatement.

Why does a gorgeous woman. who has a face like that, need so much bling? When will Ms. Rai adopt the “less is more” strategy?

    1. Melange at | | Reply

This outfit is horrendous. It is rather unfortunate that Bollywood designers (the likes of MM, AJSK, Tahiliani etc.) have assumed that Indian wear = terrible embroidery and bling.

Aishwarya always looks better with softer colours less makeup and less bling. She looks as OTT as it gets. Abhishek looks smart.

    & too much volume

Was she the bride on both occasions??

Looks more like their wedding reception pics, thanks to Aishwarya’s lehenga. Abhishek looks good.

Her face looks lovely but that outfit reminds me of an ill fitting Lehenga I got stitched by the darzi to wear at a cousins wedding many many years ago. It’s ghastly!! How can she not have better taste. She’s well travelled, meets well dressed people, is surrounded by beautiful things…….surely some taste would have come through just by osmosis.

      Osmosis….lol!!! :D

There is something very 80-90’s about the dress, and not in a good way. But dayumm, she looks sooo hot

She looks wonderful inspite of the outfit.

Was she the bride? She has to learn to stop with all that bling and let her beauty shine through.

Horrid outfit. Doesn’t look expensive, the cut is unflattering and all that red is way too much.

  19. Fashionvibe at | | Reply

    So gaudy nothing to like.

Bling is blinding. Red lehenga? Saree in the same shade would have been a better choice. Neck up she looks good.

Aishwarya really picks the most horrendous outfits.

  22. fromchi-town at | | Reply

What is this outfit!! Its too gaudy and over the top with bad 90’s fashion flashback. Do not like this even a little bit.

  23. Avani at | | Reply

She looks beautiful, waist-up. That lehenga’s fit – the skirt looks overwhelming. They both still look so good together amidst all that bling. :D

  24. Z M at | | Reply

umm…was it her or her relative’s wedding?

  25. Ratan at | | Reply

The lehenga looks very dated to me. And I agree with some of the comments above – it’s too much of an outfit to wear to somebody else’s wedding; someone you’re not even related to! And I personally feel it’s best to leave red for the bride, although in Mz.Bacchan’s defense this was a pre-wedding bash & not the actual wedding. I wish she had worn a saree instead, sporting a soft up do with flowers in her hair. Way more elegant look for her!
