There were two Masaba sari sightings tonight in Mumbai. Question is, who do you prefer?
I am going with Zoa on this one. One, because we don’t like the stripes in Dipannita’s and two, because we don’t like the way she wore her pallu (yep, am a traditionalist!).

Evn tho I like Zoa’s look a whole lot more, I don’t think one-boob show is traditional, infact it just looks tacky, so over this I wud prefer Dipanita’s drape anyday.
well said.
Is it weird that I kinda like that weird Masaba sari on Zoa?
no matter hw much i love Dipannita.. its Zoa Morani all the way.. nice sari as well..
Main bhi traditionalist. A quirky traditionalist. My vote is for Zoa. She looks fabulous!
I think I prefer Dipannita’s draping
for the reason that both the boobs are covered.
I am way more traditional when it comes to
pallu draping. Cover both the boobs. As far the sarees
themselves, I think Masaba needs to come up with
some new prints & patterns. Kind of bored seeing
the same kind of prints & patterns in her sarees, dresses etc.,
And I am saying this bcause I kind of like her designs and
find them fun and fresh but I wish there was more variety.
Ps: I think Mandira had worn a saree with those
stripes.
here we go again. presenting masaba’s HIDEOUSNESS!
eee yeah, i think seen as a complete fabric, the prints do look fun and pretty. they would work maybe as a scarf or some sort of hed gear, but as a sari, they literally make people look like shanta bai. i cringe everytime i read ‘masaba saris’. they are fugly.
These r both ugly saris. Period
Hey, I liked Dipannita too……… She carried it all with great smile, effortlessly…………liking both
Only Neena Gupta seems to be able to do justice to Masaba’s creations. These two look terrible. The hip-revealing drape on Zoa seems too forced and Dipanita looks like she just wrapped the sari around her.
They May be Masaba sarees but one> they look really gaudy and 2> Similar ones are seen worn by household help in India
actually in her interview she mentioned that her inspiration is”bai” haha
come on, i have dippanita’s sari and i love it! i’ve seen Zoa’s sari on the rack and must tell you guys- looks very tacky up close because of theyellow/black material, which is very synthetic-y. the other sari has a classier finish…
Boringggg! These sarees r predictable n monotonous
I actually prefer the saree on the left but not the way the ladys worn it. These masaba sarees are great though, so colourful and young looking, does anyone know the price range of these?
why have both worn it chameli style. eeewww. period.
ok…whats with this Masaba…and I seriously wonder why you both are not critical of her. I believe she has an unfair advantage of having a famous mother and thereby has ‘connections’ to get these celebs to wear her work.
Dont get me wrong…I’m all for prints and edgy takes on traditional garments like sarees…but Masab’s work is just a plain mess. I comend her for her individuality and not taking cue from any other designer, but beilve she needs much, much greater refinement.
Shilpa, we’ve already critiqued her work in our last review of her collection of LFW.
zoa’s look is a lot better!
Traditionalist as in 1 Boob Pallu?!? Both sarees are crazy btw – esp Dipannita’s. Colors are loud and clash with each other.
there are both disgusting, and cheap? saree are awful wud not wear even if they were free, yuk
ooohhh… love the colors! but i agree… i am not a fan of the stripes or the way she draped it either. the one on the other hand is STUNNING!!! beautiful… wow! i love the sleeve length of the blouse too. probably would;ve have gone with other/ no earrings. but she looks great whoever she is.
now i am dreaming of myself in that saree……
Love the sari on Zoe Morani. Its better than the other one, or maybe the way she wor e it
How is the half-boob drape anymore traditional than Dipannita’s pallu draping?
I like both, but especially Diapnnita’s because of the way she draped the sari. She has the slim, tall figure to carry that drape, and the draping and colors of the blouse and pallu really go well together.
Am on the fence about both sarees. I thinked Dipanita wowed the look & as for the drape….me thinks Masaba sarees doesn’t fall into ‘traditional’ category & hence the only way to do justice to it is with funky drapes.
the masaba collection is falling apart, she has to learn, as someone said before, the art of refinement.
her design aesthetic is becoming boring very fast. even these so called “experimentalists” are going to tire of her sooner or later.
she just has one trick in her bag. and its just plain tacky.
Dipannita looks much more classier! her saree also looks better! Zoe’s saree looks tavky! Since when did a one boob drape become traditional? She looks like she is about to break into a dance. And I MUST ADD, if Ms. Sonam Kapoor had worn the pallu like Dipannita, I can say with complete conviction that you would have been applauding her for “experimenting”, “being different” and “changing things up”
