Wish List Wednesday!

Slacked off on these Wish Lists, didn’t we? So without much further delay, (drumroll please) here’s one!

Ms. Saran was an easy pick for the series. Beautiful woman, unfortunate sartorial choices. She tends to favor a certain kind of sari, a certain kind of dress… And if not stuck in that rut, the hair and make-up seem to let her down. Below is our wishful indulgence… How we’d love to see her in any/all of ’em! Some are bit of a stretch but, think twice why don’t you?!

Shriya Saran

It’d be great to see Ms. Saran pick Indian-wear that wasn’t the tried and tested, her go-to sheer and/or blingy options. Styled differently to work off the runway, each of these looks would look great on her. A soft braided updo and a statement necklace with the sari-inspired Tarun dress or the Kotwara one with the dupatta worn more casually and plaited hair would make for such a great change!

We’d love to see more pared down, minimalist tinged looks on Shriya. There is no reason to fall back on bling for every Red Carpet appearance, is there now? Look at that JJ Vallaya gown, impactful without assaulting the senses. How we’d love to see that off the runway!

L To R: Shantanu And Nikhil, Swapnil Shinde, JJ Vallaya And Deepika Govind

It can’t always be floor-sweeping gowns, can it? These looks below are worthy of their moment and, we know with just the right hair, make-up and accessories, there’s no reason why Shriya can’t have a moment in them. That Namrata Joshipura look is practically made for Shriya. And look, it’s not tacktastic. (P.S: The Joshipura skirt could be yours!)

L To R: Pankaj And Nidhi, Rohit Gandhi And Rahul Khanna, Namrata Joshipura And Adarsh Gill

We know Ms. Saran loves her maxis, wish she’d try some quirky printed ones too. Like the Rimi Nayak one. You are young. And you only live once! 😉 It’d be great to see her in an easy-breezy dress like the Anita Dongre one too.

And now, this is the part where we cross our fingers!

  1. Yipeee the wish list is back 🙂
Great choice you picked up shriya.. She desperately needs one!!!
All are great.. Can you mail them over to her.. 😀
Looking at these clothes, i really wonder why don’t our celeb dress in these, they are beautiful!
Loved the maxis but adore that cute blye dress from soup!!

  2. I love your choices..there so many beautiful clothes the celebs have access to but they prefer wearing horrible ones sometimes even choosing the tackiest ones from international labels. Coming back to Shreya, unless she changes her mindset that being sexy is all about showing cleavage and back I doubt she’ll wear any of the choices above.

  3. All your clothes choices ( intersting ones BTW), will hide Ms. Saran’s legendary back + cleavage combo!!

no way she is wearing these!!

  4. There are some pieces that are nice .. but I doubt that some clothes here would suit shriya’s body type,
    First row : 1st and 4 th
    4th row : 1st dress

  5. IMHO it’s her make-up, hair and posture that needs more intervention than her wardrobe. Too much eyeliner, heavy bronzer, same side-swept hair and that weird pose sticking her chest out that kills almost all her looks.
Your recommendations are not quite bang on though…most of them won’t suit her personality…

    • Exactly my thoughts… Even some of her hideous wardrobe choice would seem less hideous if she changes her posing and flashes a smile every now and then. Also her footwear department needs intervention.

  6. Shriya, if you reading this, you’re an absolutely gorgeous gal who picks the most ugly/gaudiest outfits. Hope you take this feedback constructively and update your look! 🙂

  7. Shriya will look good in that Shantanu&Nikhil gown and JJ Vallaya’s. Sorry but that Anju Modi’s outift is ugly, what IS it? Deepika Anand’s one looks like silk lungi for women.

  8. P&P, with all the due respect to your vision of dressing Shriya in these, I feel many choices provided by you here don’t suit her. She lacks the attitude or panache to carry these….

  9. Well, I too have only one life to live, but I would NEVER be comfortable with having giant bugs seemingly crawling all over me… Good God, that mental image is freaking me out!!! I think Rimi Nayak needs to hire a better print designer, if she has one at all.

  10. While I appreciate the idea and look forward to the suggestion, I think it would be really helpful if you’d work to some extent with the celeb’s basic style aesthetic. No way can Shriya carry any of these off. She doesn’t have the attitude. Most of bollywood is out to show off their best body part, not their style. Sad but true.

    • you are so right!
this is just wishful thinking… i think these clothes are too trendy and not “masala” enough for shreya. she just wants to show off her body!! i on the other hand, would love some of those looks :-p
