In Lanvin
It is not everyday that we have a sighting of Vogue’s Priya Tanna…
At a recent event, spotted her in a Lanvin Oriental Flower Dress. Have to say, Ms. Tanna seems to have a thing for this particular silhouette. Remember This?

makes her look even bigger…so nope doesnt do it for me.
Exactly, Faiza.
A woman like THIS heads the editorial of VOGUE?
Shucks, I think i’m gonna stop liking the mag. She has zero sense of fashion.
bingo!
For the editor of VOGUE India, she sure doesn’t know how to dress her figure. It’s the wrong silhouette for her full figure, makes her look bigger. Also, wrong shoes, clutch & bra.
Seriously! I agree….she is far from stylish! How did she GET the job?? What a let down to the name Vogue.
she is the editor-in-chief of vogue india?!! she certainly does not look like a editor-in chief of one of world’s popular fashion magazine… i could dress better than that without stylist….. if somebody know her adress please send her a copy of devil wears prada, channel and some book on fashion.
lol…..agree
ha ha you are right:)
Egad! Delusional?
Dress – fail!!!!
Shoes – fail!!!!
Clutch – double fail!!!
The whole look – ahhhh!!!!!!
yikes ..this is a disaster!..Vogue..seriously? She needs to sit with Anna Wintour and Carine Roitfeld and take lessons!
Carine: Mon dieu, non!!! (oh god, no!)
Anna: Has she even heard of our magazine? Let alone read it?!
(nasty i know.. but shes really asking for it.)
if anna ever sees it she will die of a heartattack
Whoa! This woman has no idea how to dress herself, and she is managing Vogue!! The irony!
I am surprised the often critical bloggers have nothing to say here.
Yikes!!!! I really don’t get her fascination for this particular silhouette….I mean she really needs to lose some weight or chuck that dress asap coz its definitely not working for her figure….ppl would definitely think twice about buying vogue after looking at this!!!
A huge pillow case for a dress and her girls are everywhere. Yucky shoes and clutch. Her expression shows that she is kind of scared/embarrassed to have stepped out of the house like this. HA!
this lady works for Vogue? the magazine dropped a good few miles in my estimation, if the editor in chief steps out of the house looking LIKE THIS.
she has no idea how to pick underwear or outerwear to flatter her shape. boring hair. boring bag. disastrous shoes. disastrous dress.
that dress is by lanvin? goodness! hate the print. hate it.
Oh my God .. what would Anna Wintour or Carine Roitfield or Anna Dello Russo think of they saw this .. she’s the editor-in-chief of Vogue India!! That’s one of the most disastrous looks I have ever seen .. that’s got to be a WTHEY!!!!
After La Roitfeld and Anna Dello Russo, not to forget Anna and even all the vougettes.. am quite shocked.. I thought there is a certain standard that is followed. This looks fails completely
Going off-kilter a bit, the problem with fashion journalism in India is, we have journalists spearheading fashion magazines and not fashion writers with an innate sense of style so great, and a thirst and interest; having seriously studied fashion in-depth. The magazine business is like a mafia where few can get in, you have more chance of succeeding if you are just a journalist who may or may not possess little or no knowledge of fashion and the business, and probably have pedestrian sense of style and bad taste (Sorry to say). Thank God for blogs! Even if you can’t write well, but have the passion and the ‘eye’ you can confidently call out those who made serious fashion boo boos while getting dressed up and its fun! 🙂
This is not a flattering look for a curvaecous lady.
poor lanvin 🙁
There is a reason indeed for not sighting here everday.. and while i dont know what the reason is.. i am happy there is one. At least now we know why Vogue India is so uninspired.
I totally agree with all comments above – the whole outfit is nothing but a disaster. But, when the whole outfit fails, a cheerful disposition is at least some saving grace – even that is missing!!
I love Vogue India & I am sure Priya Tanna is a fab editor-in-chief but that doesn’t let her get away with such fash tragedies!! I can only hope she reads this blog, and would care to pay enough attention to the comments here to at least try to change her (non) style!!
now i know why i cant remember one breathtaking or really exciting spread from vogue in a while.enough said.
It’s not necessary to look completely “Fashioned out” , but yes if your the EDITOR of VOGUE..much effort required..
when u live, breathe, sleep, eat and sell fashion then lookin and dressin a certain way is a small price u have to pay..if one sees it like tht
Priya Tanna tweets, “The world always seems happier, lovelier and brighter after you ve stepped into a lanvin dress!!”
Unfortunately this is the wrong Lanvin dress.
hahaha..somebody send her the link to this blog.. i will:)
She probably means ‘bigger’ instead of brighter!
Vogue mustn’t take their Indian franchise seriously!
This goes to credibility of Vogue India. Credibility – Big Fat ZERO.
Guys give her a break, I have known her for 20 years now, and she has health issues….let this pass….OK
Well I dont think anyone is commenting on her health. The point everyone’s trying to make is that if you’ve got a certain body type then you should avoid certain silhouettes. Now the average woman out there may not know how to dress her body type but if you’re the EDITOR of VOGUE, you’ve got one of the biggest jobs in fashion and you DAMN well should know atleast that much. So a thumbs down for the magazine because we know that the person heading the team itself knows NOTHING about fashion.
I agree wih J. It’s not her weight that’s the problem at all. Nobody’s asking her to skinny. But when you are Vogue’s editor, you’re expected to dress well, and in this case, she can choose to show your curves much betterl…
Okay… this is a rhetorical question, but did Ms. Tanna only begin wearing western dresses after becoming a Vogue editor? I only ask this because she looks mighty uncomfortable in her clothes (always) and I feel as if she’s under an obligation to wear them because of her job.
Why is it now considered imperative to dress Western, when one would be smarter and more comfy in one’s skin in a more Indian silhouette?
The fact is that not all women of a certain age had access to or wore designer togs, before the last few years, so not everyone has taken to this new de rigeur style, though that hasn’t stopped them from playing dress-up, for good or bad. I feel Priya Tanna is a case in point. I don’t know for sure- it’s just a guess…
No, most middle and upper middle class women in India wear western clothes, with the exception of formal events.
Considering she’s the editor of Vogue, this look calls for a WTHeyyy!
Thank God, we don’t see a sighting of her everyday if this is what she wears. Why is that on a fashion blog people request to let disasters slide a) health issues b) oh she is such a good actress c) she doesn’t care about fashion…blah blah..
Disasters slide for reasons such as*
O god .ppl. give her a break.. She must not be knowing that she is going to be photographed.
a) She’s a Vogue editor
b) She’s at a product launch
How could she not have known about the photographers?
The Lanvin dress is horrible and I personally love lanvin. And about the comment that blogs know alot of fashion, Im sorry I do not agree about that, there are quite alot of people working in the Indian fashion magazine who know so much about fashion, I have read blogs who don’t even know fashion history!!!
I think the dress makes her look bigger. The black bow attracts more attention to the bust area. She should have worn a rectangular cut alternative fit or probably done her face up , so that attention went up on her face rather the body.
The clutch too looks lousy.
I can’t imagine seeing Franca Sozzani of Italian Vogue OR Anna Wintour of American vogue OR Emmanuelle Alt of French Vogue OR Alexandra Shulman of British Vogue OR Seda Domanic of Turkish Vogue OR Angelica Cheung of Chinese Vogue OR IN SHORT ANY VOGUE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF WEARING THIS DRESS!. Its hideous. Now Priya might be a good editor but her sense of style is ZERO.
I suggest Priya to sit on a meeting with Anna and Franca to discuss her sense of style.
I JUST SENT PRIYA TANNA THE LINK TO THIS POST. LOL tru Twitter…
