Vidya attended the Filmfare Awards wearing a black sari by Rick Roy, who also did the costume design for her in Tumhari Sulu. At first glance, I wasn’t sure if I liked that additional stripe embroidery running through the middle but the more I look at it, the less I mind it.
She looked nice. Her earrings are from Gehna and ring is from Aquamarine.

Wow. This is STUNNING. I usually find Vidya fine, sometimes pretty. This time, I think she’s looking HOT! Something about the hair, the simplicity of the saree, and not too much jewellery. This is phenomenal!

That saree is inspired by the traditional Bengali design called the “pachha-pere”, literally border-on-the-bum. Very popular in the 60s and currently enjoying a revival 🙂 Of course, the 3-rd border design is woven in handloom traditionally.

The saree fabric and the OTT embroidery looks cheap and tawdry. VB manages to look lovely through it all.
