There’s fit issue with the pants. I find that a common problem with Indian designers.
Unpopular opinion but tunics of this length are one of fashion’s meh items. Regardless of body shape or height they do not flatter anyone.
It took Prada to put the kolhapuri on the Indian fashion map.
Agree with the first part of your comment, not the second. Kolhapuris have always been around, even on these pages, with stars from Deepika to Nayanthara sporting them long before the Prada show.
Educate yourself, maybe?
Oh God one of the Internet scolders reading more into an observation than necessary.
Maybe read the newspaper articles and more that tell us that Kolhapuris are having a resurgence after stagnant sales. Example:
“Traditional Kolhapuri sandals are seeing a surge in sales and renewed interest after luxury fashion house Prada sparked controversy for showcasing a strikingly similar design without acknowledging its roots.”

Agreed kolhapuris have been there forever. Prada didn’t bring anything back.
