Sari Style
In Melbourne as the brand ambassador for the city’s Indian Film Festival, Vidya picked Sabyasachi saris with jewellery by Gehna for both the launch event and the screening of The Dirty Picture later in the day.
Loving both the saris. Got a favorite?
P.S. You can also catch the Festival’s director Mitu in a Sabyasachi sari inside.

vidya is lukin beautifulll…. in white saree…. <3 it !!!!!
DEFINITELY THE FIRST ONE in black n white!!!!!!!
Black and white number is gorgeous! Vidya is looking lovely. The other two Sabya sarees are pretty as well.
She looks HOT in the black and white saree. Love the hairstyle. wow !!!
Vidya’s second saree is awful! Sabya’s losing is touch.
quite sweet. she’s learnt a thing or two about saris from laila khan. true story.
Um, seriously? This is hilarious:)
hahaha i just saw this after the other post!!!
I’m convinced ‘unforgettable’ is Laila Khan herself!
sureee!! laila khan outfits are a joke half the time.
Vidya looks gorgeous but she must really try something else unless she wants to look like Rekha 2
Rekha 2, had to laugh when I read that!!
there are other people in india, apart from sabyasachi, who also make elegant and classy saris. it would be nice to see vidya try out different designers. the monotony has really become annoying and predictable.
I agree!
the first one is okayish. The second one makes her hips look HUMUNGOUS! horrid looking sari … so mismatched!
LOVE both! How refreshing is Vidya Balan with her very Indian sartorial sensibilities (as opposed to the almost 40s/40+ women squeezing into outfits that can only fit well or look truly good on the prepubescent crowd). However, beyond that and perhaps more important, she doesn’t pout and look all serious in order to appear fashion savvy. She smiles and looks like she’s having fun with it all. Having said that, I would love to see her in the Travelvogue or similar sections just to see how she dresses in her downtime.
Thumps up!
agreed…her non-chalance about fashion and the rest is so refreshing.
I am not at all a supporter of the stick thin look but Vidya looks heavy (and broader) in both of these appearances. It may be the saris to an extent but still. I am ALL for curves (God knows I have some and I don’t mind flaunting them) but I think in the industry she’s in it’s also important to still look fit to some degree. Ready for the brickbats 🙂
I so agree with you! I think P&P have censored the brickbats. 😛
I think her curves suit her. She’d look odd if she became too thin…And its not as if she’s going to compete with Anushka for roles. I’d really like a mature romance between her and SRK with SRK playing a Mohan Bhargav like character …..If only SRK would embrace his age and look for age-appropriate heroines..
Loving the new neckline in the first appearance! She is making a slow but yes change!
could you id the jhumka in he first pic ..
i really want them !
The first of these two, but the red she wore later in Oz Land was the best of the three
o goooddddd! enough with the sabya saree-minimal jewellery look!
The green&white sari at the special screening is cute, whimsical and youthful. I like it!
Love the back & white saree & the blouse design is really nice & different. The other one is a pretty average saree!!
Meh. Don’t you guys ever get bored of seeing her in the exact same look EVERY SINGLE TIME?? Its all nice and good to know what suits oneself, but man she never changes it up. NEVER.
I find her dressing sense extremely boring. It makes her look so much older than she is.
I find her very sensuous in those saris..there’s something indescribable about her..maybe its self-assurance and the lack of a need for attention and adulation unlike other actresses?
