In Sabyasachi

Vidya Balan attended the recent awards night wearing a Sabyasachi sari. A chunky Tribe by Amrapali necklace finished out her look. We like.

  1. She looks lovely, the saree is beautifully draped, make up is good, the necklace is lust worthy but here it looks off, just like the beautiful necklace that Konkona wore few days ago, too overwhelming if it can be called that!

  2. The sari looked nice and classy on it’s own. What need was there to add a giant amma ji necklace to it? Less is more!

That necklace would have worked with something very plain but this is too much.

  3. So boring. If Sonakshi can carry off an evening gown, why can’t Vidya? They have the same body type, don’t they? If I see her in one more sari I will die of boredom.

  4. Finally an uncluttered, non-fussy look from her. What a great change from the messy hair and the voluminous sarees she wears usually. She looks stunning!

    • Ha ha I love this particular thread! Seriously, what IS it with that hand pose – looks like the first thing she must do when she heads home from one of these events is massage that poor left hand!EVERY time that hand seems to be set at a right angle of torture, though as rightly pointed out by ‘judge’, it’s doing some extra service here. On a good note, how pretty is that face!

    • Me too, that hand is distracting!!! And I dont think that necklace works with the saree…the gold tones and silver are clashing.

  5. ive been holding off this comment for a while- but i must say she looks like a cat whos gor the cream in every recent pic of hers- expression wise- and this saree- with gold and warm color undertones- and the silvery necklace-(though gorgeous in itself)have no reason to be together- just like that expression!!

  6. I am beginning to actually not like her at all!! BECAUSE WHAT IS WITH THAT HAND POSE? THAT TOO UNDER THE NECKLACE..!!??? For god sake she is always in front of a camera and should know what works and what does not!!

  7. she looks nice and all.. but why does she have to hold her stomach like that in every pic.. the pose almost makes her look like she’s showcasing the necklace lol!

  8. Same ol Same ol… ( I am not saying she does not look nice)….
Why is she holding up that necklace though… The necklace is already making a ‘statement’

  9. Every thing is nice.. But come on- this is just too booring !
I would have any day preferred to see a mangalsutra rather than that in her neck.

  10. vidya now reminds me of my old biology schoolteacher. you always knew what was going to walk into the classroom, because there was no change in what she wore. no guesswork necessary. while i have to admit she looks good in sabya, she’s a snoozefest all to herself.

  11. She might not be any Style Icon, but she sure rescued us from those sheer blingy sarees that are such an eyesore. The demand for traditionally weaved sarees has actually surged and people ask for Vidya Balan type sarees. If these appearances of her, uplifts the status of Indian handloom weavers, i would say Go Girl !!!
