Sari Style
Vidya on her promo tour has been serving some great looks in her saris. Though she wore them all well, the look in the mathematical motif ikat sari by Utkalamrita was perhaps my least favorite. Given the whimsy motif, wish she had opted for less severe hair. Loved her in the purple Deep Thee, the color looked great on her! But it was her sighting in the vintage-y floral print sari by Raw Mango that was an instant favorite of mine… Love the sari, the blouse, the look, all of it.

Everything that you said about Vidya Balan’s outfits is spot on. Can I also add how well she’s posing (in all her Shankuntala Devi promos so far) – not awkward or ‘fierce’ (read OTT) in front of the camera. Maybe it’s just been a while since I saw a celeb in these pages for an actual promo, and I’ve lost all sense of judgement :p
Yeah she’s the only few lady like left.
How gorgeous is Ms Balan!! Total love!!!
The deep Purple is striking, she’s having a great run.
The Raw Mango look has such a strong Gayatri Devi-esque vibe. Classic, evocative, and intimate…??
The purple one looks so beautiful on her. Yes she is a total natural, no awkward trying to hard poses, no pouting. Totally natural and radiantly beautiful.
Finally she figured it all out minus that black blouse(design part )….. she looks gorgeous in everything thing else she has worn in last few days.
The purple look is the best. Given that Indians are celebrating in the month of Shravan, jewel toned sarees are always the rage in this festive month.
The mathematical saree is not printed, those equations are woven and that itself makes the saree absolutely unique. Superb craftmanship and the concept fabulously aligns with the movie.
Word. It is the best.
I once had a craftsman explain the process to me and the thought behind some of the limited designs. Each is actually a work of art, its not for no reason that some Odisha sarees are expensive.
Vidya has had a really good run. Her saris are all beautiful and elegant.
Not to forget that its a great saree for the film in question. A tribute to the person and Indian art and technique.
The beige look is amazing!!! So youthful!
I like the vintage inspired sari the best.. this classic look suits Vidya
‘The Loom’posted on their insta that Vidya wore the purple saree from their collection. Can you confirm?
