In Raw Mango

Vidya was one of the very few to do a sari at the Filmfare Awards and boy, were we glad to see her in one. She donned a silk striped Raw Mango one with jewellery from Johri by Amaze and completed her look with a middle-parted updo complete with red roses.

While she looked sweet, part of me wished that she had worn her hair not middle-parted. It somehow ages her so much more.

  1. I don’t think the middle part looks bad. I actually think her hair looks good and she looks pretty. A bindi would’ve finsihed the look nicely! I do wish she would try a shorter sleeve blouse though. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her wearing anything other than long blouses.

  2. Damn the Filmfare Awards tag is full of the most hideous gowns, a parade of worst of.

Vidya looks lovely and she should stick to this Meena Kumari vibe look.

PS: And as always Neha Dhupia is a woman who is effortlessly stylish an rarely puts a foot wrong.

  3. Such gorgeousness 🙂 It’s an elegant look, very appropriate. The sari is wonderful, very well draped, and the accessories add just the right amount of bling. The hair and make up take it up a notch

  4. She looks so lovely, as lovely as she did in the movie Parineeta. She looks so well put together. Sarees is beautiful, not over the top and draped well.

  5. “It somehow ages her so much more.” No, no, NO. Let us not value women for looking youthful, let us not devalue women for looking older. These are sexist, deeply unfair critiques. This woman looks fantastic, end of story.

    • AGREED!!!! I think we already live in an ageist society, I don’t think the reasoning for choosing a particular hair style/outfit should be that it ages a person. It would be nice if we as women do not support that kind of mentality towards each other.
