Wearing her trademark look, this time in an Anavila batik print sari, Vidya caught a play on Saturday evening with her husband. As much as I like the sari, it was yet again a case of more of the same.

  1. If it is such a boring look, then why feature this look at all? Is there a rule that says you have to post her every look? Apart from inviting comments from those who usually pick on her, what purpose is this serving?

      • agreed to some extent. But i feel so conflicted about it. I feel P&P reserve the right to feature who they want and not let a certain bias permeate who they feature. At the same time I see that the comments that her repetitive appearances attract are nothing short of insensitive cyber-bullying.

    • On a related note, I appreciate how most commenters here avoid engaging with , responding to, or inadvertently encouraging the cyber bully who is doing it just for the attention.

  2. Ho hum. There’s nothing wrong with a signature style but a little change of blouse style, drape, hair, pose….something. Especially if you are going to be out in the public eye so regularly. you can cut paste her from any picture in her last few outings.

  3. I love Vidya but pls p&p please stop featuring her every drab look.everyone knows she’s not interested in dressing up for the cameras and just wears clothes which she thinks are apt for her.

  4. wtf haters and especially repeat haters. If we have to suffer page after page of vacuous starlets in terrible designer clothes trying to be “fashionable” why the hell can’t the rest of you suffer the “shabby boring sari” posts. If you hate it so much go start your own blog and get the eyeballs.

There is a simple solution for folk who seem to love writing the same rubbish over and over again. And not just on the Vidya posts. Whatever annoys you do not open the post and scroll past. That is what I do for 90% of the posts. Stop making stupid comments on some hapless woman who happens to be featured on these pages. Or PnP for daring to feature something you do not like. The thing absolutely killing these pages is the commenter negativity which is not constructive but petty.

re the post itself its a lovely muted sari, looks charming enough. I don’t really care about comments on the clotheshorse and sameness. A bit tired of the focus on the personality alone.

  5. We all know that Vidya loves wearing sarees and I find that refreshing as we are so innundated with Bollywood stars wearing Western outfits or blingly sarees with bikini blouses. I think this is actually one of her better looks. The only thing I’d change would have been to have a loose side braid instead of open hair. Also, this outfit was worn to a play, not a movie premiere. Most people were very casually dressed, so she’s actually put in some effort on this look.

  6. People have the right to not be into fashion. And it’s tacky to bully and criticize EVERY outfit they wear. It’s your prerogative to do so anyway, of course.

  7. I must admit that these days I only open the Vidya Balan posts to laugh at the trolling. Unless it is racist, sexist, classist or other such vile ist, it is fine. I’m sure P&P already block a million disgusting comments from Internet monsters.
Some people love public figures no matter what they do (or wear) and some people criticise them for the same. Please stop being overly sensitive!
On an aside, it is interesting to see fan-girls’ arguments. It is a lesson in PR and brand making for the keen eyed.
