Vidya Balan looked good (in relative terms) at the ‘Tree Plantation Drive’, we just wish she left her fake Birkin back home! But, baby steps right?

  1. I think she looks her usual self. The shirt looks like its picked up from janpath and the neckline tacked to avoid show of cleavage. The shoes, bag and the red nail paint all looking very tacky. I don’t think the stylist is on board yet!

  2. if she got rid of the shoes, nailpaint and that terrible fake of a bag…she’d pass for decent.
but hey, least she hasnt plastered on makeup like at other times!

and man…i feel really bad, i dont think she knows shes carrying a fake. she does need a stylist…and fast! maybe P&P, you guys can help? lol

  3. okay i’ve a question ……….. is it that easy to figure out whether the birkin is fake or not ?? or it’s just this particular one , made of croco skin and bright red color ??

  4. stylo,
the most obvious one is that Birkins have a flap..this doesn’t..

And at this point I think the kid doesnt know about Birkins..else she wouldn’t be hauling this bag everywhere..

  5. how is this girl so successful and in demand? one sees girls better put together waiting in line for the bus in bombay. not that i take the bus but you know what i mean : )

  6. a little better…a little
I also have the feeling that she is absolutely clueless when it comes to style
sigh… We should start some king of stlyist-bollywood celebrity matching business

  7. I thought she was supposed to have lost 15 kilos or some movie with Shahid, but she still looks pleasantly plump. The shoes and bag are ugly, this wannabe birkin is so not close to the real thing-wheres the comparison?

  8. She doesn’t look her age – she looks much older. Attribute it to her makeup or clothes or whatever, the fact remains. If this pic of hers is shown to non-movie-goer, am sure they will say that just another hip mom-of-a-toddler going out for shopping….
Sorry, but that is what I thought when I first saw this pic.

  9. are we sure she’s 30? surely a 30 year old in showbiz will have enough sense to tell between a fake birkin and a real one. she’s carrying around so proudly : )

  11. She is so successful and in demand because she is a good actress and has a lot of hit films to her credit. Unfortunately she has no sense of fashion. At least she is trying so I guess two points for effort.

  12. @payal :”….the kid doesnt know” errr…some sort of backhand compliment? ahahaha…

the old woman doesnt know should be a politically correct one! lol

  13. @payal: Well true, but being in tinseltown one cannot afford to be a fash-disaster. There’s a fashion-price to pay to stay top na? 🙂

  14. This gal will always have a broad frame, and cannot carry off clothing meant for models. If she gets couture that flatters her instead of being trendy, they will be no more whhat-the-heyys…These kinda women look better and better as they age; they don’t change too much…she will be a hot soccer mama for sure!! Right now she has to find a wardrobe identity, a niche for herself.
I am impressed with the webmistress, she never disappoints as she posts often, round the clock…

  15. SOMEONE should have whispered..”FAKE BAG” in her ear..and watch her reaction.. Oh i WOULd love to volunteer for that one

  16. maybe she likes the bag. who cares if its fake. i’ve seen far worse real designer handbags. and to assume she’s carrying it proudly because she thinks its a real birkin? maybe she knows its fake and she just doesn’t care. anyway birkin is SO over-rated. its such a statement bag (just because you’re not flashing the logos like LV doesn’t mean the bag is not flashy because everybody knows what a birkin looks like and its traditional structure serves relatively the same purpose as the logos of LV – status symbols). On a side note her top is from Zara.

  17. i guess she could’ve looked decent , if only she had left her handbag somewhere else and avoided that fold of her jeans , short length of her pants made her look stouter

  18. OKay this outfit is really bad – the top is a an okay pass – but the jeans make her thighs look funny and the red shoes aren’t working –
you know maybe her problem is that she dresses like a commoner, not a bad thing – but i mean like everday people – her oufit, minus the shoes and bags are something i would wear on a dialy basis cuz its cheap, affordable, casual and comfortable and hassle free – wheras we are used to seeing celebs dress in unbevliberaly overpriced clothes and shoes and look immaculate – ofcourse nothing wrong with that – but vids needs a stylist esp since her films aren’t so happening these days!

  19. Okay all the vidya bashing has made me root for her. I think some people in this blog need to think that *SHOCK* *HORROR* some people don’t give a rats’ behind what others think.. to them life isn’t all about conforming to the “norm”..

some people don’t dress to impress but rather to express.. not saying that Vidya is making any big statement here and i don’t like her outfits… but i am speaking in general..

there is a herd mentality in this blog, like you’re supposed to look a certain way and follow a certain set of rules.. or the unwritten so called fashionista code.. like blah whatever, no one wants to be pigeon holed so if i was a celeb i would rather have my own style than go for the “foolproof” so called style statements..

this blog is for entertainment purposes as p & p have already stated on their disclaimer. none of us here take ourselves so seriously and it’s great to have a forum to vent and debate freely

  21. yeah but i hardly see any debates, one person or the blog writers say one thign and rest of the regulars go with the point of view and parallel their “opinion”

until someone objective comes along, like for example yours truely

  22. Guys, this is not a ‘fake’ Birkin! It’s just another bag that she picked up from a local store. Too bad it seems oh-so-very inspired by the legendary Birkin!

If it were fake.. it should’ve looked a lot more LIKE the Birkin.. maybe how the YSL Muse looked on Moushmi??
