I might be in the minority here, but I quite liked the Huishan Zhang dress that Vaani wore to a recent awards night. Vaani looked striking on the red carpet!
That said, while I understand the look the stylist was going for, I do wish Vaani had skipped the stockings. Because visually between the hem and the monotone, it made the bottom-half of the look disproportionately weighed down/heavy on the actor.

Was the stylists trying to emulate an award statuette? A subtle nod to the event, perhaps?
I kinda like it, but I’m also on the fence. I’m not sure how to feel about this look sums up my feelings:)
Vaani for some reason looks very fake in every sighting, and increasingly so. Something about the makeup or the dresses her stylist choose or the overdone hair make it over all seem stiffly mannequinish vs being any remotely natural. Wish she’d give herself a chance to be more natural and give less made up sightings. And she’s naturally blessed with looks and a great structure, there isnt even a need to try so hard. Begs for a little charm and self.

That’s a strange stance, looks robotic, dress is fine, looks like a runway model got into bw loud gaudy awards by Mistake. Horrible make up. Vani has some personality to be able to do these loud yet lifeless looks so clean
The stockings make her look so strangely tall .. it feels like those fun house mirrors that elongate your reflection..
Those stockings are killing this look, and Vaani’s wearing 5 layers of make up. I don’t understand why someone with a great body and face would try so very hard. She needs to ease up a bit, and embrace her natural looks. I miss her from her first movie, she’s unrecognizable now and has been Bollywood-ized.
Definitely striking and quirky! Reminds me of a Tim Burton character.
She works the dress! Minor gripe about that odd shaped neckline and stockings!
Looks like a Black Heron (night time…day time). Agree the proportions are off with stockings but otherwise this is a cool look, although an odd choice for April in India.
I think the bodice of the dress is sitting too low.
The dress worn slightly higher, without the stockings would have helped create some visual harmony. As is, the proportions all seem stretched out and wrongly put together.
Still, an interesting attempt. I’m glad they didn’t go with the routine, ‘safe’ lehenga or princessy gown.
Vaani looks quite statuesque here. The dress fits her quite well. But the stocking are weighing this look down.
Softer pinkish nude makeup, minus the stockings, and some edgy strappy sandals and this look would have been a tenner for me.
It is lacking in impact as is.
I read the designer’s name as Hieun Tsang:) a name stuck in my mind from ancient History lessons!
That’s a strange looking dress. Can’t say I like it.
She looks like an evil mermaid (albeit pretty one) escaped from the Disney movies!
