While out and about on Saturday, Twinkle was spotted wearing an ikat dress from DeCastro paired with gold slides and her Goyard tote. Like the dress?

  1. am so tied up in the ironies of this look, i can strangle myself. am just trying to figure out the 30,000 rupees price tag. pick up ikat yardage woven in pochampally (300 rupees/meter if single ikat, 800 if double ikat) . add minimally involved design in the west. tag on a desi-inspired ‘traditonal’ name. find a willing bollywood stooge. export back to the country of origin = megabucks.

  2. what 355$, omg… after this comment, i checked price tag. this is minimal design and simple cotton fabric,
it is ofcourse pretty and feels fresh with all the colors but yes, nothing novel, that you can not find in delhi market or can not replicate

  3. To all those who are upset with the price tag
She has the money, so if she likes a print she picks it without a second thought.
Isn’t that how restaurant business work too? We pay a lot for brand/ presentation etc.

If one can get it done for cheaper from a local darzi, yes go ahead

Is this dress a sight for the sore eyes, I think Yes!

  4. To all who think this is simple … here is a thought , how many times have you seen an ikat fabric yardage with this much colour ? number of colours increase intricacy even though the pattern is simple . So yes this is a designed product, someone actually conceptualised the fabric and then made a call to convert to a dress that looks so effortless that we think that a “Darzi ” can make it . How many shops have you seen selling such products ? there are many times designer word is abused … but there are times when we need to look at things closely … my 2 cents … have nothing to do with this label/ brand but it irks me when months of work planning and effort is dismissed so easily . You dont like it I get it but please this is a fashion blog and a lot of people here talk of weavers and Indian textiles yet when you see a well thought out design just because it looks simple dont dismiss it .
