Trisha on Femina Tamil:(Un)Covered
Femina launched its first ever Tamil issue and gracing the cover was Trisha in a white Gaurav Gupta couture dress. Do you think the styling is too plain for the avant garde dress, as I do?
Thanks ‘Ena/Priyanka’ for the correction.

Photoshop at its best…
I am surprised even femina Tamil is not using sarees for the cover
Well, Femina Hindi has Genelia in a leopard print dress – so naturally Femina Tamil has to show it is equal 🙂
I think people need to get exposed more to designer wear regardless of indian or western wear…
I have to disagree… why should people be exposed to designer wears which is ridiculously pricy for most of it being extremely ordinary?
I think people need to exposed to dress up well, according to body type and support local works than be a big, brand victims.
^ What she said.
Its a Gaurav Gupta, me thinks.
Plus, i think it looks rather nice – Femina doesnt pitch itself as a fashion magazine, does it?
Corrected.
I wish the make up was more nude for a spring launch .
Ya, i think would have been nice to see Femina Tamil cover with some one is a saree or something ethnically Indian (any type) so that it doesnt seem like trying too hard.
But i am glad that Femina is now in Tamil anyways.
I would keep the style (hair and make up) and change the dress.
She looks nice but I am never sure anymore if it’s Photoshop or the real person….
I think the cover looks fine. Nothing too fancy. The dress is good on her. Not much photoshopping has gone into this. She is pretty slender in real life too.
the photoshopping is crazy… i bet no one here wouldve recognized trisha had you not mentioned her name.
I agree its too plain – actually no styling at all
I am so happy Femina launched a Tamil edition for us South Indian readers!! India should be proud of it’s native tongues! English is overused in our society, we have to embrace our own languages, and Femina is taking the right steps.
Think she looks pretty…because the dress is so funky, the plain styling makes it pretty instead of lady gaga-ish
I think she looks wonderful but this is Tamil edition. Even if you watch the Tamil stars interview, they are so down to earth, unlike bollywood and seem very reachable. That’s the only way tamil audiences like it.
So, any rules applicable to western magazine, bollywood wanna be magazines will not work in south.
I agree about the down to earth part. If you have noticed the non tamil actresses hardly speak 2 sentences together in Tamil in the interview(lol). If that’s the case, i don’t think what they wear should hardly matter anymore be it western or ethnic. If Shriya can bounce around with skimpy clothes in Tam movies and if it’s liked by all, why the would the Tam audience have a problem with the dress on a mag cover? Plus the dress on this cover is fun and the south people from what i hear and see are definitely adapting to change.
Oh no, you are getting me wrong. I am talking about less clothes, conservative, ethinic or western. I am just talking about the “fierce” look that is expected out of this shoot.
While bollywood stars work every way to be out of the world/out of ordinary, south stars are sort of required to be very next door”ish” and sweet. Hence, i feel the fierce/attitude look will not reach the audience.
I am so happy femina is in Tamil, dress up well and other things femina represents (??) should reach a larger audience than it does now.
Ah i see you where you are coming from. Agreed! I am glad too that Femina is taking this effort.
She looks like Tisca Chopra, na?
This would have worked for me if they hadn’t chosen the picture with the most awkward facial expression. I’m sure she had better pictures.
I think That’s a Gaurav Gupta and not Rohit Bal. xx
You’re right. Double checked and it is GG. Thanks!
teri aankho k kaale kaale kajal ko photoshop ka slaam…..
hahahaha
The dress is pretty complex, so anything more in terms of hair /makeup would have made the picture gimmickyl. I think it makes for a nice balance.
Also, too many covers have the same over-done dramatic styling – its nice to see one that does it differently.
absolutely! the styling is so very ordinary. the hair could have been different, the makeup, the pose could have been changed, it could have been a lot more fun cover but this is just so plain. like u wouldn’t want to see it twice…
