Both ladies seem to have fared a lot better going to, than returning from the Awards in Singapore. Quite the weekend that must’ve been! 😉

  1. Vidya Balan has the fugliest shoe collection which is common knowledge if one follows HHC long enough. That ugly bag need to be thrown in trash. Like now. If not for Sabya she will probably land in the WTHey category week after week. Otoh, Priyanka looks good.

    • I know right! It’s not like she has to go all designer ala Ms Sonam on travel. This one doesn’t know even to do basics. Pathetic!

    • Someone’s going to ID that bag as a Chloe/Michael Kors/Whatever, and then everyone is going to be like “Gosh I love that bag!”

It’s not the best looking bag ever, but it’s certainly not fugly.

      • It doesn’t matter if it’s actually a chloe or she picked it up from LA fashion street, it does not reek any amount of classiness or remotely bearable. Also, this is probably the fewer times i have seen her carry any bag, now i know why.

  2. So this how Vidya looks when she doesn’t don a Sabya or Sari. Good lord! That unkempt hair, those wedges, make up, the outfit-one word-Yuck. How can some one especially a bollywood celebrity go wrong in all areas?

  3. I disagree with the above commenters. Just because Priyanka has no style of her own and hires Ami Patel to pick out even her airport outfits, doesn’t mean she’s a practical dresser. It’s not that safe to wear stilettos in flights. And I don’t believe it’s necessary to go to the hairdressers to get photoshoot perfect hair before a flight either.

Vidya may not be an edgy style icon, but there’s nothing too wrong with what she’s wearing. Kurtas are always a safe bet. It looks comfy, and her hair might be unkempt because she just woke up from the flight.

    • Kajal wears almost similar clothes and shoes during trave(lor worst)…..but noone complains there….i liked vidyas shoes in the 1st pic,so much better thn those pointed joker-shoes on Priyanka!

      • Exactly! Since when was dressing well to take early morning flights a duty celebrities owed to fans? They’re humans just like us and want those extra few minutes of sleep.

And Priyanka’s white pointed pumps are grotesque. Eww.

    • Haha, what about the practicality of wearing high heel pumps in the flight which vidya is seen in the first pic? It’s not about having a stylist or not in this case, she lacks even the basic put together look. Even if that bag for a designer one, I would still barf. Her fashion sense is Zero. I rest my case.

    • I think if you are a celeb and are going to be photographed maybe you at least tie your hair in a neat ponytail? Don’t tell me you guys here don’t brush your hair on a flight. If Vidya can make an effort to wear 4 inch heels on a flight she can do better than that frumpy outfit.

    • Safe to wear stilettos on a flight? No. Is it safe to wear a 5 inch high heel or some 5 inch wedges on a flight as seen on Vidya? Again, a big fat NO! You are not making a good argument for Vidya since if she was going for comfort and simple, safe bet …wearing those shoes are anything but.

      • I think we’re being too critical on Vidya. She doesn’t have to conform to our expectations of how a celeb should dress; it’s simply not one of her duties. She seems to be okay with getting on to flights dressed as normal, non-famous people…a la me. Which, if anything, is a positive sign. Not everyone is out trying to flaunt the fashionista tag.

My point about stilettos has been misconstrued. I’ve read that heels with a thicker base, ie platforms or chunkier heels, aren’t too bad in higher altitudes. Stilettos have been classified as unsafe because there is so little to balance the heel on, and in case of stability of the flight, due to cabin pressure or physical movement, the likelihood of those people getting injured is greater.

        • 1. High heels are bad – be it stilettos or the ones with thicker base.
          2. We are discussing about celebrities on this blog and not what we wear on our personal travel choices.Any sensible person who dresses for comfort will not wear such high heels.
          3. Vidya does not have to conform to any expectations. But she is featured here and a whole bunch of us feel that she always turns up messy even with all the luxuries available at her disposal. She has to care, to maintain a certain level of style because has made her career in the glitz and glamor of Bollywood.

  4. Its probably for the best that Vidya is not featured on HHC.

She’s a serious actress. But most serious actresses don’t really bother with the dress up game, case in point being Meryl Streep. Or even Jessica Chastain who is in some pastel number all the time much like Vidya’s Sabyas.

Apparently now there are two categories of actresses – those who turn up on the best dressed list and those who act. Sometimes the two meet but it is rare.

      • Seriously guys? Priyanka’s white stilettos and coloured jeans are AWFUL. She does look good waist up though. Vidya is an easy target (and yes, the wedges are rather yuck) but she does not look bad, she looks plain, which is how everyone looks when they travel. Give her a break!

      • Totally agree:)

Off topic but I’d be happy to get a daily dose of Natasha Poonawala, why can’t the paps catch her at the airport?!

    • Thank you to those in agreement.

I just wanted to add that its a little belittling to leave a serious actress open to criticism for her dress sense, you would never see it with a male thesp. She has a job which she does very well and while the odd feature is fine, it hardly makes sense to constantly judge her on the basis of her red carpet/public appearances which are a very tiny part of her body of work.

      • Well, that’s because we don’t have blogs for Men’s fashion at least not that many for a straight male. Even on HHC, how many times do you see men featured? This is ridiculous if everyone gets a free pass because they act good, received a world certificate for beauty or belongs to a certain religion/caste. This is only based on what they wear and how they carry themselves nothing personal. I don’t understand what’s the big deal about!

        Reply
        • Adara, it’s not a question of a free pass.

Clearly Ms Balan is not that bothered about the fashion stakes and getting a stylist. Perhaps this is because she has other things to do and her career doesn’t depend on her projecting a glamorous persona unlike PC.

So my point still remains. Some women don’t care about fashion. Even when they belong to the glamour industry. There is little point in featuring VB often and everyone complaining in the same way that she isn’t up to scratch, its boring for the reader too.

    • I don’t care if she is the best of actresses out there but if she’s featured here with fugly fashion choices, obviously it’s going to draw comments. It’s upto P&P to decide to feature her or not.

    • She does have to bother with the dress up game but she can put in some effort or get a stylist! It’s not like other actresses are not serious actresses who turn up pretty put together. Even the same PC featured above along side her has a national award to her credit.

      • Well said, Adara. Both Priyanka Chopra and Vidya Balan have one national award each. This whole business of “Oh Kajol is a good actress, Vidya Balan is the best out there” is pretty annoying. Unfortunately this not a blog where we give points on how well they act or how much money they get, it’s a forum for everyone to discuss fashion. Period.

  5. Tight jeans, shirt knotted like a wannabe and pointy toed heels – clearly PC’s stylist is hired to dress her without a thought for comfort on the flight.
I’d pick Vidya’s outfit for sheer comfort. I’d rather she put her energy into acting than blow drying her hair before a flight.

  6. I think Priyanka looks nice in the look on the left. Vidya, well its just the airport..donn care much abt it.

  7. I’m appalled at the comments posted on Vidya. I understand she has no dressing sense and I definitely don’t agree with what she’s wearing here but for Lord’s sake hold back the utter rudeness. She’s a fine lady and superb actress on screen. What she does off screen is totally HER AREA and NOT for us to enter. She’s giving us what we need on screen so please let the woman live according to her needs during her time. There are plenty of brilliant actors who don’t care much about their ensembles but more about their acting skills. It’s disgusting how immature you guys think. It’s a modern world, people can wear a garbage bag n get away with it provided they’re ok with it n no one should have the right to ask someone to change their comfort zone just because it is not visually appealing to them.

    • So what’s the reason behind reading HHC. Guess all of us are a bunch of immatured lot reading this. Since I don’t think this blog has anything to do with acting. I am wondering why you have to get do personal about the comments, shows the level of maturity you got. This is where we discuss fashion and not about if she is a fine lady (lol, I don’t know how you made that statement unless you know her personally). Exactly, everyone has a right to comment if she is featured here including you.

  8. Priyanka Chopra is a straight up WTHeyy.

Is this chick really being style by Ami Patel of L’officiel or some clueless interns from the magazine?

Either Ami has no fashion sense (which doesnt seem so) or her interns are giving her a bad name OR Miss Chopra just does her own thing.

Also, there happen to be some blind Priyanka Fans here who think she looks “effortlessly hot”..ha ha!

She looks like a homeless hobo who could do with some charity hand me down from Mumbai’s A-listers.

  9. Ughh…it’s really not that hard to put together a comfortable outfit that doesn’t make you look like a slob or a wannabe. Also, it’s impractical to wear heels/wedges/open-toed shoes on long flights where it can get cold and your feet tend to get swollen. And they should ditch those uber tight skinnies/shiny leggings and get some nice, cotton-blend trousers instead.

  10. When it comes to fashion critiques, since we’re all here on HHC and know what this blog’s about, IMO no one gets a free pass! What’s this about “good” actors being out of the purview of being criticized for their sartorial choices!? Good/bad actors – that’s subjective, isn’t it. E.g. I for one think Priyanka is pretty one-dimensional in everything she’s starred in (so far) but obviously many of you think she’s a good actor. Her acting chops or lack thereof don’t preclude her from being critiqued for her fashion choices.

As for Priyanka’s and Vidya’s airport attire – I am a frequent flier myself….there are very few times I have had the luxury of actually going to a hotel to freshen up or (bliss) sleep, as opposed to rushing to a meeting from the airport itself. So for me, dressing like Vidya has in the pics above is – sensible, comfortable and deserving of a gazillion thumbs up!

  11. Agree to the first part. But seriously, Vidya’s look is sensible & comfortable? Those 4 inch pumps and 5 inch wedges are nothing close to comfort or sensible!

      • You’re right I completely overlooked the footwear! Well, ankles up anyway I wish I could travel dressed like that. Throw in a pair of ballet flats, sketchers or even flip flops and thick socks (the ultimate fashion crime?) and there you have my ideal in-flight attire 😉

        • Completely agree with your comment above about acting being a subjective territory, I’m not a fan of Priyanka’s ‘acting’. Just wanted to add, it may not be a good idea to wear flip flops because you risk tripping with all the running around between terminals and stuff. I tried it once, never again. 🙂

On a side note, I think a pair of Toms is the perfect footwear for airports. Very comfortable and easy on the eyes too!
