Wearing grey separates, Deepika made her way in to the local airport. With her hair pulled back in to a knot, she rounded out the look with oversized shades and tan accessories. She looked good!

  1. I admit she looks great..
    But !!!!

Even if she is travelling to a colder place why would someone wear such a heavy wollen pullover in Mumbai heat !! Beats me..
    Can’t celebrities think sometimes
Do ppl living in Mumbai need to copy Fall fashion from the western world to look cool?

    • agreed. Even if she was travelling to a colder place there is a jacket that one can wear on landing.
Mumbai heat and humidity and celebrities with pullovers/thigh high boots/wollen jackets is plain silly imo

    • November isn’t that hot though. But still picture this. Celebrities get out of air conditioned homes to ac cars to ac airports (business and first class lounges are chilly) to maybe a colder place. Your argument holds for say 15 minutes to half hour. I think they can manage that much for fashion. I don’t see such a big issue esp since it’s November and not May/June.

      • Air Conditioned homes/cars would still make a normal person with a heavy wollen jacket /pullover sweat . Mumbai is still hot.. Its 80+ F in Mumbai guys not 40 F as in colder western countries.
btw thats what carry on baggage is for !
to hold that warm jacket and wear it on landing… where its actually cold 😉
pls celebs don’t look like fools

      • And I will add that in addition to November bring cooler, people from hotter climates might have a lower tolerance for cooler weather. Back when I was in India I used to shiver and need an extra layer when an AC was turned on and now, after 15 winters in the north east, I don’t even zip up my jacket unless temps hit the 50s 🙂

        • I agree with the cold endurance. When I arrived on easy coast in June 12 years back, I still remember the first fall air in August, it felt like the coldest of western India where I was from. Just the next fall, I kept saying it isn’t chilly this year and my Indian colleagues said exactly what you said. We think we know how our body functions, honestly we don’t. have. a. Clue.
On to Deepika’s look, it is a very common look, the sweater is clearly a blend and I don’t think most would bother to take it out if only distance is from car drop off to lounge and also if you know you are being clicked and think you are looking good, why would you bother. Such strong criticism for a pullover is weird.

    • Nope! Lots of us travel from Mumbai in light cardigans or pullovers, including in the summer. Most airports and airplanes are freezing.. lets not read more into it and think it’s because people want to follow Fall fashion 🙂 Some of us are driven by practicality and comfort, and I’ll admit it, this is actually a travel look that I can relate to completely.

      • I was going to write the same thing. Maybe not every look needs to be criticised with the same lens. I don’t know about Deepika, but I would, and have actually worn that sort of a pullover in India(Bangalore), to the airport when I am travelling to a colder place because I cannot physically tolerate the air con in the airports and am in an ac cab on the way and I am landing in a colder country. And I actually don’t care a damn about fall fashion. Its more effort to carry it in my handbag for the 5 mins of exposure to warm weather from the cab drop off to the checking counter, and I am very much going to be keeping that pull over on for longer time than not.

  2. wouldn’t have thought grey and tan to be a happy combination but she looks so good. probably coz the greys are so pale.
and the sweater’s probably cotton, not wool. perfect for chilly airports and planes.

  3. Weather inappropriateness aside – she looks great.
If I had a body structure like that I would definitely copy this look – its slouchy chic.
As everyone said, it is a very Victoria Beckham look.

  4. She looks great! I love such clean looks from her! Someone please tell me where to find a more affordable sweater option…please!

Weather inappropriate or not, I think someone constantly on the move can be spared some leniency and cannot always be expected to change into a weather/place appropriate dress. Why does a well put together look need so much negativity? I am so glad to see a more casual Deepika look compared to her more recent experimental red carpet looks ( Pls dont kill me, she has every right to experiment and she is in good company with or without Ranveer, but a balanced approach is what I’d appreciate—like one fun element in her case as head-to-toe quirky looks suit Ranveer more)

…alright, I am ready for the noose…execution by words to follow…

  5. I am wearing T-shirts with jeans here in Bay area California during day time in November, where we have AC like weather most of the year. These celebrities in Bollywood are trying so hard. I can’t imagine wearing that turtle neck thick sweater in hot Bombay, icky.
