As she was exiting the airport, Deepika was photographed in a festive Lajjoo C suit. Among her accessories of choice- pair of gold hoops (earrings) and embellished tan jootis. She looked nice!

  1. Why does everything Deepika wear so curated? She’s become so obsessed with becoming this brand, that she’s stopped looking like the normal relatable person people fell in love with.

        • Picked a suit of a favourite/particular/preferred designer by a stylist, wore it as per styled by stylist, did hair and accessories as per look for suit by stylist (hair isn’t a normal bun, plait, open left lose done by self), did make up by make up team as per this look and possibly considered flying. Do you get the curated/styled effort bit?

It’s not wrong given their star statuses, but it’s not required everywhere, all the time, so carefully done that it screams. Even though this looks simple, it’s very well made. I’m ok, it’s a lot better than what Deepika’s team processes her into otherwise.

    • I don’t understand the same “curated” comment for everything ?. She’s just wearing a suit. Looks just fine. How else will you give her a pass?

    • Ha, look again… she looks the least curated. she has the dupatta non-chaltantly draped, no exaggerated poses, no form fitting, skin showing outfit, pulled back hair, glasses that hide her face… what is curated? where is she staged? please… let the girl be.

  2. I love the jootis, that suit is pretty and simple, can be easily found in a Pantaloons or West side store. I find this a very basic and relatable look.

  3. “She looked nice!”: did she? I think not. The suit is blingy and appears shapeless, also, I dislike the way the dupatta is draped.

  4. The way she’s worn her dupatta makes me uncomfortable. It’s a dainty dupatta to be worn over one shoulder but she’s wrapped it around like a stole….not a great style for that ethnic outfit. Kind of took away from the look. Also, why the glasses at night? Bollywood celebs maybe the ones with the most ridiculous style

  5. Beautiful! Love the colour… Just wondering if it isn’t too festive for travel?? Unless, she wore it for some event and flew directly from there.

    • She is seen giving interviews in the same suit . May be she got ready for the interview from Mumbai and directly attended the event. The pictures of her with the interviewer is there on insta

  6. I don’t know whether this look is curated. Atleast it’s not copied and she isn’t trying to fit in a mould. Maybe the look is curated but on the bright side, she looks well put-together. I love the colours on her, though quality of the suit fabric looks questionable.

  7. If not explicitly mentioned, I would have never guessed she is returning from Airport. Actually if you think about it, Most celebrity airport looks do not seem like “returning / going to airport”.

Despite critisim on the airport fashion , why do celebrities insist to be decked up to the nines. It is not like there ia dearth of occasions to show off your stylish wardrobe

  8. Thank you Sara Ali Khan for bringing back normal suits and chappals! Thank you for making over the top airport looks now look exactly that – over the top. So much so that Bollywood everywhere is tryna tone it down to look cool. A true trendsetter.

    • Yes, Sara introduced normal suits and chappals to Bollywood and now these people are trying it. But Sara would’ve made this suit look effortless. Deepika makes it look full of effort and curated.

  9. Why can’t celebrities carry their luggage themselves? Some don’t even carry their handbags. And they always have an airport officials in those god awful dhoti pants and blazer following them.
I know, not a comment on the outfit but just a random thought

  10. Just as I had issue with nerd chic and their abuse of dark rimmed glasses for stereotyping (recently, hello Kangana) , this is another “tool” that celebrities pass off as having a practical use of helping against “photo (flash) damage”. Check out B-town photog accounts on Instagram and we all know these photogs are screaming at celebs and guarding airport gates to click celebs while shouting their names for attention and flashing cams…pray tell me, for someone entering and exiting the airport (matter of safety/privacy/security earlier, actually always), wouldn’t it be more practical that they let celebs pass off with their gaze down (as Deepika does here) or safely allow mother and child to exit (Kareena and little T) without requiring the hassle of wearing sunglasses at night?! Or I am going to just assume that celebs DO want the attention because no one is silly enough to wear goggles at night…oh wait, it’s always been about the attention…

All that rant aside, Deepika looks normal and comfy for an airport look …the fabric/sheen/color were perhaps keeping in mind to attend a semi formal event/meeting for a short trip? I just can’t get behind the nighttime goggles look ..fashion or idiosyncracy (Anushka/Sophie C/Kareena/Priyanka C)

Also starting to wonder, if anyone (muggle) has tried the nighttime goggles look and accidentally got papped?! 😛

    • Always there wondered that about being papped accidentally if I just wore sunglasses at night through an airport.
Never got through it because I always felt super silly lol
