Tania was seen at an exhibition opening evening wearing a striped Prada dress with her alligator Hermès Kelly bag and slingback white pumps. She looked good in it.
She looks nice because she is a beautiful woman and makes this prison-style dress work somehow. Also, my feet hurt looking at those weird pumps. The dress and the shoes clash here spectacularly. The dress would require more edgy shoes like those on the model, and a sharp, minimalistic bag. Long story short, all parts of the outfit seem disjointed and make Tania look frumpy. I feel much better now, rant over! 😉
Education needed: Not a question for this specific looks but for Hermes birkin’s and kelly’s in general. is keeping the bag flap open a look? I see almost every other sighting where buckles are not clasped and flap is open. It drives me nut but I’ll probably never purchase this bag unless i hit a lottery.
A quick reddit search pointed to few discussions that apparently clasps are very difficult to buckle and unbuckle so people prefer to keep it open.
My main questions:
1. if this is really a design issue why hasn’t Hermes solved it, considering its probably the most expensive handbag purchase many customers will ever do
2. Is it an accepted norm now as I don’t see any fashion blogs ever pointing it out. I would assume people would at least close the flap for photo ops but they don’t seem to be bothered
1. The Birkin/Kelly design has reached such a cult status. Solving the issue would require to do away with that clasp which then takes away from the classic design itself. 2. Having the flap not clasped could also be that folks want to keep their bags pristine and the more you clasp unclasp, the more you wear down the hardware (Scratch it on the metal as well as scratches on the leather) and it loses its pristine status as well. So it could be part of the reason why ppl leave it unclasped.
Tania is always very chic!
I really liked the bag.
She’s looking great.
Getting second hand anxiety from that open purse!!!

This !!!
Captured my whole emotions
Love the dress!
This is not a good look. It’s disjointed and the dress is quite childish. Hermes can’t save everything!
