In Gauri And Nainika

Wearing a sheer Gauri and Nainika dress, Tamannaah attended the curtain-raiser event of a soon to be held Awards night. With her hair partially pinned up, a pop of lip color and metallic sandals are all that it took to finish out the look.

Not only did the gown look rather out of place at the event, it didn’t quite work on the actor either. The color and sheerness washed her out, and the volume seemed overwhelming. And between the two, it just wasn’t a look we were sold on!

  1. I was waiting for HHC to talk about this one. Every other day we see celebrities totally missing the mark on event appropriate dressing. just because they have access to high fashion we have to endure such eyesores on a regular basis now.

  3. Agree with the out of place comment. Look at how everyone else around her is dressed!
But then I feel this is unavoidable in Southern cinema, the actresses cannot dress up without looking out of place because the main leads (with a few exceptions) and directors etc are all super shabbily dressed. Somebody needs to call them out on it.

    • I so agree. But most of the Heroes dress quite well. The other technicians-crew come in as though they just woke up from slumber which obviously makes the lead actors to stick out like a sore thumb. And celebrity weddings down south, while the women are dressed in silks the men come in their silly denims and worn out shirts.

  4. Risque. She looks better than most that would have fared on this one. The lining could have been the whole length and that could have made it work so much better. The top part does not look vulgar because the cups does not floweth over. Face is lovely and glowing as usual.
PS : KAMALHAASAN is workin’ that mustache! And Namrata is in her usual mourning self. 😛

  5. OhMiGawd!! My eyes… my eyes!! Such a ghastly look!! So apt for a ‘Whattey’ moment!! I wonder if she and her stylist were high when they were prepping for this look!!?
I get that people wanna take the road not taken in terms of fashion and go for a look that makes people sit up and notice them but not in such a way that can actually scar people for their entire lives!! Leave alone the bad dress, even if she was going for a bold look, why not go the whole nine yards and have a fierce hairdo and makeup?? Why go for such a sweet hairdo and makeup and come looking so disconnected and downright ridiculous?!!

  6. For a fashion forward set of readers, I am stunned by the backlash to this dress. I agree that it may not be event appropriate or that it is not styled aptly but the comments on vulgarity are so uncalled for. There are worse dressed men/women who show skin inappropriately and yet this peakaboo dress elicits such strong reaction. wow. I also saw the media chewing her out on this appearance. For real? Come now people.

  7. I think she wanted to bring on something new and innovative, but it’s not working, or even could be that the pictures have come out very weird.

  8. Eww! What a silly choice of dress. Hard to believe that this is Gauri and Nainika dress. Their dresses are usually soft looking beautiful dresses. This is atrocious!

  9. Holycrap, she looks like a joke!! She is a snooze-fest. Such a lame and boring dressing sense she has. She looks awkward and uncomfortable. LOL at the comments.

  10. Dont tell me that she did not try it on before she attended the event. The gown looks like a mutant négligée cum machchardani. The saving grace is the face and the glowing complexion.

  11. The top half of the dress is not so bad, but the bottom half is a complete DISASTER. After Baahubali’s national success, I guess she’s really trying to up her fashion game with top designers and risque cuts, but it clearly ain’t working.

  12. I may be in the minority here, but I actually like the bottom half of the dress. Of course, it is entirely event inappropriate, but it would work well at other events.
