Sari Style

It was a sari again (sorta!) for Ms. Bhalla on day four, this time a blue Play Clan one. Am a huge fan of the brand and love that they are launching saris but not quite digging the way Nandini wore hers, over a dress.

WLIFW Spring 2013: Péro

Looking at this collection, I could so very easily be a Péro girl. Casual without being dowdy, the clothes were easy, perfectly styled and contemporary while still leaving no one in any doubt of their Indian origin.

WLIFW Spring 2013: My Village

Rimzim Dadu presented another strong collection. No flouncy florals here, loved that black-and-white number in Row Three and the floral white top paired with the textured lime pencil skirt in Row Two. It’d be a shame if some of these aren’t worn off the runway.

WLIFW Spring 2013: Kallol Datta

Kallol Datta’s ‘Grotesque Nonsense’ was every bit as restrained and pared-down as it was unexpected. The immaculate and tightly reigned in drape and deconstruction was a joy. The mood may have been dark but the clothes were anything but. Loved this presentation.

WLIFW Spring 2013: Vaishali S

Like with her previous collections, the designer continues to work with fabrics like chanderi and khand. This time however, the indian-wear inspired pieces made way for more contemporary silhouettes in hand-woven fabrics. With some of the dresses though, it was hard to not sense a bit of Rahul Mishra hangover.
