Sari Style

At a conference on Thursday in Mumbai, Vidya was spotted sporting her signature look in an Anavila sari. What could’ve been a really pretty look was ruined by that hair over the ears ponytail and that huge necklace that could give Flavor Flav some serious envy!

Now, I know many of you have given up on Ms. Balan and think we should just stop featuring her. But, we quite haven’t. We don’t expect her to give fashion forward looks but at least not look this bad in a sari. I know for a fact that you can wear a sari everyday and look good. (Heck, we have our mothers who’ve shown it to us!)

Here’s hoping she is reading. :)

Sari Style

Vidya helped unveil Sukanya Venkatraghavan’s first book in Mumbai wearing a printed sari with a cobalt blue blouse. Given the event question, the Punjabi text print sari made for a cute pick but between the necklace and the red lip, one felt like there was one red element too many.

A pure silver necklace would’ve worked better here.

In Joy Mitra

At an event for a bank, Vidya was seen keeping it simple in a cotton Joy Mitra sari and Amrapali jewellery. While I like the simplicity of this look, something about the hair threw the look off.

In Anavila

At their respective events, both Neha and Vidya were seen wearing Anavila saris with white blouses and Amrapali jewellery. While Vidya opted for statement rings, Neha dressed up her linen sari with chunky silver jewellery. I should have a problem with the big earrings and the necklace worn together but oddly, I like it. I do think she should’ve skipped on the bracelet.

Got a favorite?

In Swati Vijaivargie

Vidya helped unveil a book recently where she was seen in a Swati Vijaivargie sari featuring a contrasting red blouse. Hair in a braid, she finished out her look with smoky eyes and a glossy lip.

I may not be a fan of the loafer pumps but she looked good and the credit for it goes to the change in makeup.

What did you think of the look?
