In Marchesa

Now, this is more like it! Freida switched into a purplish-pink animal print Marchesa dress for the Miral party pairing her dress with suede purple pumps and a black studded clutch to contrast.

More than the dress (which is gorgeous) I think am in lurrrve with those pumps. They are just so delish. Am on the fence about her hair but guess she didn’t have time to change it up after the premiere.

In Chanel Couture

You can’t but help notice the Indian influence in this Chanel Couture dress. If you ignore the skirt, the top part totally feels like a pallu over a blouse but let’s get back to Freida, shall we?

As much as we want to love this on Freida, the deal breaker for us were those metallic pumps. With the dress already being an odd length, those shoes just exaggerated the effect. This one, we didn’t like. You?

The Round Up: Dhobi Ghat Premiere at TIFF

The stars of Dhobi Ghat alongwith director Kiran Rao made an appearance at the premiere of their movie at TIFF on Friday. The men went with bandhgala-style jacket suits with Aamir picking a brown one and Prateik, a black one over a blue shirt.

Of the ladies, Kriti was a favorite of mine looking beautiful in an orange gown that she paired with gold bangles, some lovely gold earrings and a gold clutch. Co-star Monica kept it simple and beautiful in a strapless silver-grey Varsha Bhawnani gown with drop earrings. (Why does this gown look familiar?)

Kiran went short in a black & white Pankaj & Nidhi dress that she paired with an owl Judith Leiber minaudiere and a gold necklace. I wish she had picked one or the other.

I wish we had good full-lengths of all but alas, these are the best I could find. Am quite looking forward to more of Kriti and Monica’s appearances on the red carpet though.

In Narciso Rodriguez

It was a blue Narciso Rodriguez dress for Freida, who looked lovely at the press conference of You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger in Toronto. I wasn’t a big fan of the black shoulder strap on the dress which is why I am loving that Freida’s loose curls cover it. It gives the appearance that the dress is a one-shouldered one. A box clutch, black sandals and bangle completed her look.

Sporting The Skinny

Call me old fashioned or perhaps it has to do with watching daddy dearest for years dress up in suits for work but I love the basic tie. Years of watching Dad make perfect triangle at the neck can do that to you. In fact, now I sometimes do it for the better half, thanks to the occasional practice on Dad.

These days, the skinny tie has become quite a favorite and at the premiere of their movie, both Abhay and Harman wore skinny ties with their suits. If I really really had to pick, Abhay’s grey suit would be my pick just because he had a better suit on. Who do you prefer. Either or neither?
