One doesn’t expect every designer to always be wearing their own but when you’ve just showcased a collection featuring Aztec prints, isn’t it odd to be spotted wearing one from another label.

Aztec prints, pops of neon, beaded/embellished pieces and fringe accents, Surily’s latest showing had ’em all. With its easy jumpsuits, dresses and separates, the collection is sure to be a favorite among the designer’s many celebrity friends.
While the collection was very commercial, it also felt hugely derivative of what’s already out there. The embellished aztec prints hint at All Saints, the tassel hem brings to mind Opening Ceremony, the fringe on printed dresses reminds one of Missoni and the chain-embellished tops say Malandrino. Just saying.

While Sushma and Nina were in attendance at the event and lent support to the designer by wearing her designs, Carol and Shamita were at the event modeling the collection. Fittingly, the designer wore her own too.
